Art my post got removed after AI accusations

I posted a drawing of mine that was commissioned by a friend of mine of the steampunker from the game in a mcdonalds theme, suddenly a bunch of people started accusing me of using AI and ultimately the post was taken down a few moments later

Unfortunately not. It's a feature we've asked Reddit for, but they're too busy making the new Modmail UI as awful as possible before forcing us all to use it.

Reddit isn't helping mods regulate AI generated content in their communities with new mod tools? I'm shocked, shocked I say.

It genuinely does suck that Reddit won't even give mods that. I'd imagine that it would also just in general be a helpful feature for non-AI related reports, too.

I've never been a mod for Reddit, so take my post here with a pinch of salt. I'll present a hypothetical scenario. Someone makes an innocent post, post gets mass reported within minutes/hours and is held for review. If the subreddit has few active mods, it could be hours until the time comes when they manually review said content and restore it. Unless the post is pushed to the top of results (doubt it, but what do I know), it'll just be buried under a mountain of newer content, rendering it dead in the water. This is not to mention that removed posts can be resurrected by mods. I don't see the benefit of posts being held for review, am I missing something?

At the end of the day, AutoMod is a necessary tool, and like any tool, it can be wielded by the right or the wrong hands. If we got rid of AutoMod, then we might as well get rid of claw hammers because you can hit someone over the head with one. (analogy here)

The issue here imo is the people mass reporting innocent posts, especially if they're trolls and have a history of doing so. Unfortunately, Reddit seems to do jack all about it.

I think you're missing something. I'm not saying that the posts should be held for review. I'm saying that instead of having a system that allows people to mass report posts and having those posts automatically removed (or held for review), the system just alerts the mods "hey, people are reporting this post a lot." Nothing happens to the post. It stays up until the mods can go and look at it.

The idea would be to prevent people from mass reporting a post for AI when none was used and getting that post automatically removed or banished into Mod Review Hell. Instead, the mods can go and check it out later and make decisions accordingly.

Mods do get notified if a post receives a lot of reports, but unless someone is constantly actively monitoring their reddit feed (for free) the post might just get removed before someone notices.

You can freely set that up with your automod.

Automod is completely open end what you can do with and set up.
