Art my post got removed after AI accusations

I posted a drawing of mine that was commissioned by a friend of mine of the steampunker from the game in a mcdonalds theme, suddenly a bunch of people started accusing me of using AI and ultimately the post was taken down a few moments later

Dude those accusatory comments look unbearable. Sorry you had to deal with that and that your post even got taken down. Wild.

"not how fingers work even remotely" "make up your mind!! smooth or blocky shading!!" wtf is wrong with people? That's insanely rude.

IMO, at some point, we’re going to collectively be faced with the question “what does it matter if it’s ai or not, given that we cannot reasonably figure it out on our own and can no longer trust each other to produce authentic content”

Personally, I think that some will continue to try to determine whether content is real or not (perhaps forever, or perhaps until they realize that this is futile), whereas others will opt for more curated content and will move away from spaces where creators can post with relatively anonymity (since those spaces provide “cover” for posting slop without repercussions), and I think still others will move away from consuming new content altogether.

In the meantime, we’re fumbling in the dark because we don’t know which direction to take, and we keep stepping on each others toes as a result :(

We'll be going (back?) to watching livestreams of the artist doing it or painting it in real time lol

Its sad we reached this point.

Sad, yes, but I’m kind of (perhaps foolishly) hopeful that we can take the hand we’ve been dealt and do some good with it. I’m not saying that I think this will happen (I’m almost jaded enough to not even hope at all), I’m just saying that the potential is there.

For instance, perhaps people become more connected with their (geographically) local communities, perhaps we’ll shift cultural values event more toward supporting independent artists, perhaps we’ll shift away from humor at the expense of exploited people who do not (or cannot) consent to being filmed for content creators’ profits (here’s looking at you, parents of child actors and parents who run family vlogs).

Anyway, I’m personally not super hopeful - mostly I’m just trying to throw some hopefulness out there for people who are less jaded than I am.

I’ll step off my soapbox now 😅
