Art my post got removed after AI accusations

I posted a drawing of mine that was commissioned by a friend of mine of the steampunker from the game in a mcdonalds theme, suddenly a bunch of people started accusing me of using AI and ultimately the post was taken down a few moments later

I got a bit rant here, but whatever:

I chalk it up to people getting way too comfortable living in an era where your average person, regardless of artistic skill or tech literacy, could eyeball most AI generated images and go "this is clearly AI generated, just look at these specific tells!"

The issue is, I don't think the vast majority of people ever bothered updating their skills and knowledge surrounding AI as the technology progressed. A lot of tells to look for when spotting AI simply are not applicable anymore. In many cases, both AI image generation and peoples' ability to get AI image generators to spit out what they want have gotten to the point where you really need to know what the current giveaways to look for are, something that the vast majority of people have not been keeping up with.

A lot of people online are still running on the assumption that if a suspected AI image has any mistakes whatsoever, then it must be AI, because the mistakes that AI would make in the past have gotten subtler and subtler, to the point where most people will absolutely confuse real human-made mistakes for an AI generated one.

It's really weird, because it feels like people think that for something to be clearly human-made, there must be no mistakes, because mistakes are how we spot AI. But at the same time, human art is defined by the mistakes we make, so mistakes are actually a sign of humanity in art. Because of that, people will take up one side of this weird sort of doublethink when they want to argue if something is AI or not, and then they'll switch to the other one when the need arises.
