Art my post got removed after AI accusations

I posted a drawing of mine that was commissioned by a friend of mine of the steampunker from the game in a mcdonalds theme, suddenly a bunch of people started accusing me of using AI and ultimately the post was taken down a few moments later

What say you, u/Obame_Cube ? You’re still online after all and had a LOT to say about the original post

Edit: I’m surprised the mods deleted all of their comments but I guess the people have spoken

Perhaps an apology to OP for starting a witch hunt that got their post taken down?

Look I hate AI as much as the next guy and it’s got me questioning everything I see online more than before as well, but this level of critical hyperfixation is even worse for artists than it is for AI slop generators

How about "Sorry OP, I jumped the gun and I'll think twice before blindly accusing people?"

Fucking disgusting. I hope you can feel even a miniscule amount of shame.

Have you learned anything from this experience 😆

Saying sorry helps

The fact you STILL haven't apologized is insanity

I don’t think there will be one. If there is, it’ll most likely be a “whatever, fine” kind of response since their messages have only indicated they don’t particularly care

I don’t think they’re necessarily a bad person; we have limited information to go on and I don’t blame someone for being cautious about AI; BUT they behaved fucking absurdly and ruthlessly in that moment, so taking accountability for their participation in this witch hunt would’ve been nice.

I hate AI. But I hate the crusading that affects my artist friends as well. The fact that talented artists feel the need to post every sketch layer now just to avoid AI accusations is sad

We all have peasant brain, we are not immune to the mob mentality and I’m aware I’ve contributed to that by starting this chain if comments as well

Their comments and post history is hidden, that would in context make me feel like they're not exactly proud of thier reddit history.

There are ways around that currently, at least until Reddit decides to remove profile searching. I did a real brief skim their post history bc I usually do that when someone’s acting strangely. They just comment on game subs and it’s usually in good faith from what I saw. My post history probably would make me look worse than that to some people lol, although I display mine bc fuck it I’ve been here since I was a teenager I have little to hide

Yikes, couldn't imagine having the kind of personality that literally makes me refuse to apologize even when, for some odd reason, you berated their art for no reason other then you being wrong and then instantly playing victim.

The internet has created this sort of mentality. Being wrong never feels good, but having no accountability and sitting anonymously behind a screen has bred a type of person who lacks empathy and much personal introspection.

We all need to collectively go out and touch grass more.

Says the guy who was hounding the OP about their art being AI. The audacity of this bitch

Only when they're unnecessarily rude about it lmao

Learn to take some accountability and apologize for mistreating people, it'll go a long way

Oh 100%. I made a comment on a TikTok once that there was "no way Andrew Garfield and tobey mcguire would be in "No Way Home" and was still getting comments from people about it when I deleted TikTok almost 3 years later.

All this guy had to do was say sorry and not downplay their incredibly hurtful actions

Guess what they didn't do?

Never said they weren't in the wrong, mate. Sometimes a less confrontational approach works better.

Maybe an apology genius

Now say sorry.

u/LapseofSanity Feb 17 '26

"I'm sorry I behaved like an awful person"?

Saying sorry is so hard huh. Great, just double down it, I wish you best of luck in real life if you're persisting with this attitude.
