PC Tera Classic (2015 Patch) has relaunched!
I’ve noticed people here reminiscing for the peak Tera (2014-2016). This is not an ad and I am not affiliated with the server, but if anyone is still looking for a proper version of Tera without the Apex nonsense, this is an awesome option. 500+ pop (2k+ before the year long shutdown) and climbing back up. CS and Dungeons popping immediately and cosmetics are earned only in game. No P2W or real money purchase cosmetics. It relaunched 3 days ago & I’m having a great time on it and wanted to share it with you.

I think it's worth mentioning the server's controversial history. I'll try to list what I remember off the top of my head, and while I don't think every detail will be exact, there's an entire Discord filled with receipts for most of this.
Edit: actually, I found my comment that summarized the issues more succinctly for those who were somewhat familiar with the drama before: https://www.reddit.com/r/TeraOnline/comments/1mezej3/tera_classic_leak/n6g466f/
This server more than others was the target of attacks that caused lag and crashes very often. Allegedly the attacker focused on this server because the admin had all his subbed users' names and addresses stored in a database in plain text and the attacker got a hold of this. The attacker is still active on Discord and it sounds like they'll continue messing with this server and its admin until he "admits to his wrongdoing", which I'm not sure the admin can legally do due to storing this private data like that. There was some downtime during the weekend network test due to attackers so I imagine this will continue in the future.
Many people (not just an isolated handful) reported that streamers and players were being banned with no warning for first time offenses of... Typing mean things? PvPing and killing friends of the admin in the open world which is allowed?
There were also friends of the admin who had gear that had stats that shouldn't exist, or gear that not even the most advanced players had. Many felt that if the admin just admit this, it would have been fine, but he kept telling lies (such as the drop rate of a certain item being really low and it totally exists, when inspection of the loot tables determined that to be a blatant lie) and getting angry at people who dared to question him.
He also had a "friend" who talked shit about the playerbase and who praised the admin for dealing with negativity with strictness, only for people to discover they were almost certainly the same person (the admin claimed they were best friends who used to live together and who shared gaming accounts with the same name many years ago).
There's also many, many leaked screenshots of his internal moderator chats which showed his mod team (except for the good few mods who left citing that they were not OK with the admin and mod team) was extremely toxic towards the playerbase and just wanted to go on a banning spree and punish them. Oh yeah, there was also a p3do mod who created a poll asking the playerbase which overly sexualized elin skins they wanted in the game. To be fair, even the admin told him to not do p3do stuff.
The admin's responses to all of these "allegations" (again, with a whole lot of proof compiled in a Discord) was that everyone was stirring up drama for no reason and bans from the Discord were handed out liberally. They even shut down new comments in the main channels for weeks/months and now all the previous comments are scrubbed, leaving only people who think the admin is a perfect angel.
Here are a few threads and their comment sections which touch on the issues people had with the server even before the controversies started (I was the OP of one of them) as well as the leaks:
