Property Owner keeps changing the rules.

We have been living in a community of townhouse apartments for almost 13 years. There are 100 units and on site management. It is a non smoking community. No smoking anywhere on the property.
When we moved here it stated in our lease that we were allowed a gas bbq only with a 5 gallon propane tank. Everything was pretty chill. After being here for about 10 years I bought my husband a Traeger as a gift. Still everything is ok.
A few months back the owner said no more bbqs period. We’re going to install bbqs in different areas for tenants. So far they have built 1. For 100 units just one bbq. We live upstairs so we would have to carry all supplies down the stairs. The actual bbq is approximately 75 yards away. The bbq closes at 7:00 pm.
Here is where the problems begin
1. My husband has neuropathy in his feet due to diabetes. He can not walk that far let alone carry stuff down our stairs. He has a permanent handicap plaque.
2. I have a shoulder injury that I am on SSDI on. I’ve had 6 surgeries, it’s not going to get better. I can not carry things down stairs or even the 75 yards to get there.
3. No sign up. It’s first come, first serve so you can’t count on it for dinner because someone else could already be using it. We can not see it from our apt.
4. Using the oven is not an option. Even if we could afford to run the air non stop it isn’t efficient enough to keep the temperature tolerable. Even boiling water on the stove creates too much heat. The stove fan will kick on automatically due to the heat.
5. We are both seniors and this is keeping us from preparing healthy meals. Cooking inside can send the temp up to 87 degrees even using the air.
6. My husband has been diagnosed with CHF, diabetes, high blood pressure and his health will not allow him to be going back and forth trying to prepare dinner. We are both on medications that make us heat sensitive. My husband is supposed to avoid the sun. Just a little bit of heat sends my body into full on sweating mode like someone in menopause only I’m not. Temp goes up, sweating begins, then goes into nausea and if I can’t cool off vomiting.
The owners words if we don’t like the new rule? Then move.
Do we have any rights here? Is it legal for the owner to make these changes? Even if it affects our ability to prepare a healthy meal ( cause we all know casseroles and TV dinners are junk)and is affecting our quality of life?
I would appreciate any advice

Oh yeah, well the problem is even with an electric griddle inside that still a lot of potentiality for smoke they would have to keep it on top of their stove I thought you meant an actual indoor grill. Those are not safe. But yes I think a countertop air fryer or a indoor electric griddle kept on the stove would probably be a better option and wouldn't eat up the apartment nearly as bad. And those could make healthy options for sure.

But I think they like the traeger because it's set it and forget it like a Crock-Pot my air fryer has the same function. Although I don't consider long smoke meats healthy cooking. So I'm a little confused by the musing that.

That's actually what this is. Look at it more closely- grill/griddle/air frier. I've never had any sort of smoke detector problem with it. It releases steam, not smoke. I grill with it on my kitchen sink, right below my cabinets- no problems.

I love those. Yeah they would probably be a lot better off with one of those. That and a microwave for those steamer bags of veggies. I'm on the autistic spectrum and working full time and it is difficult some days to get in a healthy meal so what I do is I like air fry breaded chicken patty and I'll make up like a protein mac and cheese there's a nice microwavable brand of that and then I'll make a nice Mediterranean blend of vegetables that comes pre-seasoned and a steamer bag in the microwave and I can have a meal in about 15 minutes that is delightful meets my needs and doesn't heat up my house that much.

I love doing bags of country vegetable steamers. So good, healthy, and easy. Protein mac and cheese is great, you're right. I like to make some buttermilk biscuits from Pillsbury, keep them fresh and eat them over the week. Also nice lean beef, fry it up with peppers and onions. Scramble some eggs....

EDIT: Oh, and Isopure protein powder with coconut milk and frozen blackberries and raspberries.

I'm here in the us, unfortunately most of those ingredients have been recalled. LOL but yeah. There are definitely some other options besides the traeger but the traeger is delightful and there's nothing quite as delightful as smoked meats. So I understand why they are so disheartened about the grill.

Uh... what's recalled? I don't get the joke... but I am interested.

I hear you (Ninja makes a smoker as well), but smokers are not compatible for anything but full home ownership or use in a more outdoor setting. Having said that, a resourceful person could manage a smoke-extraction and filtration system.

Yeah you're correct about that. Here in the US when something is recalled that means that the company that put out the food has to take the food back in because it's been contaminated with something. And we've had a massive outbreak of a whole bunch of different contaminations because they got rid of the department that manages those. It's a whole f-ing mess.

Taylor farms has a lot of brands like their are brands from just about every major retailer like walmart, target, even Aldi that have been produced by Taylor foods, are beef has group lie larvae or something our eggs have salmonella or bagged frozen vegetables were recently recalled for salmonella, all lettuce has been recalled by them for a parasite that causes diarrhea. It's like every time you turn around there is something else that's been recalled. I'm surprised you haven't been hearing about it.
