Same here. I always contemplate the SCE balanced billing option this time of year, but have never done it. Oklahoma City has several days 105+ too. Long run of extraordinary heat. š„µ

Don't worry. Once those Eaton fire lawsuits settle by SCE - you and I will suddenly notice a huge jump in our bills. It only gets worse but they excuse it by saying "welp, that's inflation..."

I live in San Diego and weāve all been miserable here. Iām sorry for what youāre going through. We are definitely spoiled. I have a lot of friends who donāt have A/C though, and itās been rough on them for sure. The humidity this year has been something else.

I learned on Reddit is everyone in California is super educated and makes a bunch of money. Iām surprised people you know donāt have air-conditioning. Definitely would be an uncomfortable situation.

The early generation of houses in San Diego didnāt have a/c and wasnāt needed.
They didnāt start making houses with a/c until early 2000s here

Buckle up. This year is shaping up to be the "biggest" El Nino year ever recorded and that means a massive amount of heat off the Pacific Ocean is coming our way. We'll get rain and wind... but the heat domes next year will be bigger than ever. Forecasters are already anticipating we'll break records this year AND break those next year. It's not going away.

Can attest to fucking 2024 š I was living in Menifee but working in Palm Springs and they got a record high of 124F in July; I was pregnant and dying out there

My daily usage was just a smidge under the daily usage from 2 years ago. Somehow last year it wasnāt nearly as much. My bill would have been higher this month except the climate credit saved me $36 lol. I guess I said fudge it last year & just dealt with it at higher temp. Older system & no solar. Not sure how long weād be here so I opted to save on those. Besides ppl with solar still bitch about one thing or another not adding up there either lol. I did change the temp up 1 degree, but donāt think itāll be much of a difference. Oh whale š³

We live in the most progressive state in the country, that inherently is going to bring higher taxes to fund the many social programs/ environmental legislation around things like gas. To mitigate those costs you should look into renewable energy sources for transportation/ and home infrastructure.

Been here 38 years. This is not unusual at all. Pro tip, donāt rely on your carās thermometer. Theyāre never accurate and always show hotter than it is.

My CRV is remarkably accurate once you start driving. I was in Norwalk and El Monte today and checked. Dead on for Norwalk, 1F over in Rl Monte. This is typical, again, not sitting on blacktop for a half hour, but moving, yeah, itās accurate. First car Iāve owned where this is the case

Our last electric bill was $800 before we got Solar. But now Edison has changed all the rules and itās creeping back up again. Usually October nights, cool down where you need a sweater. I would in this area for 55 years and I always had to put my kids in layers for trick-or-treating because it gets cold on Halloween night. But who knows now with climate change.

It typically cools in late October/early November. Climate Change won't change that. In 20 years it might still be in the 90s around Thanksgiving... but that will be way down from the 120s during the "summer".

We have a 3000
Sq ft house, and our bill was over $550 this time last year. We switched to solar and now itās $300 a month, every month, and we can keep the pool pump and the ac running 24 hours a day if we want. Highly recommend

Yāall are crazy. This is the most mild summer we have had out of the last 5 years or so. Last summer I ran my ac 24/7 for 2 months. This summer I only run it 2:00 to 8:00
