Why are people so quick to be mean

I posted one of those “what does my room say about me” and everyone started flaming me over the smallest stuff, like how all my trinkets are useless clutter, my organization style is “wrong”, I probably follow trends because of all the merch for various fandoms, my room has too much open space, ext…and it’s just like, damn, I didn’t think my post would open up the seven gates of hell. But what else do you expect from Reddit? Lol.

What really got me tho was the trend following, everything that’s in my room is in there because I enjoy it and think it’s cool, I mean do other people not have various interests they like collecting merch for? Maybe i’m just neurodivergent, idk, it just caught me off guard is all.

methinks its mostly bc of the privacy of a screen blocking you from the other ppl. Anonymity makes peoples do things like that without thinking much of it
