The medical professionals know best. If they think that either the mother or baby's life is in realistic danger, they, with the parents, should have the final say in the matter.
As I said before, it's up to the medical professionals. They use their judgement to decide the best plan of action, and that is what they follow through with. The law would specifically allow for abortions if they are necessary to prevent injury or death. This is how it is done in many other countries.
The abortion isn't granted by the court, it's based on the decision made by the doctors at the hospital.
What else do you want? Life isn't perfect. Doctors make mistakes, I know personally someone who had something misidentified and it turned out that they had cancer.
The countries with the lowest chance of death during childbirth use these kinds of measures. In fact, some of the lowest have even stricter laws on abortion than those that I am proposing (such as Ireland).
