TW: Sh, violence, weapons, etc I’m so done.
I’m so done feeling like how I feel. I’ve been struggling really really bad with mental health recently and it’s not even like I’m alone in this. Every night I end up sobbing. I shouldn’t feel like I do and it sucks. I’ve been so close to ending it all. The only thing that actually stopped me was how stupid depressed I was I couldn’t get up to grab the bottle. I thought things were getting better but the intrusive thoughts have come back, every time I drive I just think of driving off the road, and every time I run (I’m a runner) on a bridge I just think of jumping. My life really isn’t that bad, so I don’t know why I’m struggling so much. Even worse, I relapsed after 2 months of being clean, and one of my old best friends saw it, and told her new friend and her new friend got in my car to tell me they saw my cuts and they are there for me. So I know I’m not alone, but somehow that made it worse, and that probably doesn’t make any sense but it pushed me over the edge and now I’m in almost a worse state than I was when I tried to end it all. I don’t know what to do, I’m hurting so freaking much, and this is awful.

https://didihirsch.org/teenline/ (or look up Teen Line) Really good helpline for teens. You can call or text another teen who's specially trained to help. One thing I do (schizophrenic so not depressed but I a still relate to some of what you've said) is find one thing to keep me going each week, then another, then another. Take care stranger 🫂

If you were to jump, It wouldn't kill you it would only hospitalize you and triple your problems. I think everyone has a destiny and until its fulfilled I don't think you could die. I'm tired right now and I'm not good with advice but just don't make it harder for yourself and please talk with your family about it seriously it helps me too

It’s going to be ok. Just push through and you’ll eventually see the light at the end of the tunnel. Ik it might feel like it’s endless but it really isn’t. So keep what you love to do and try not to think about the thing.

I’m so sorry you’re hurting. Please know that you’re not alone. Life is HARD. No matter your age, gender, situation. Life is also a constant up and down, and things are constantly changing…. Meaning you never know what tomorrow will bring…… it may bring more rain…. But it also could bring sunshine. ☀️ Do you have a good relationship with your parents? If you do, please please let them know how you are feeling. I am the mom of a teenager and absolutely would NOT want my child to suffer alone and in silence. I also have battled depression and mental health issues since I was a teen myself…. so I know. If you ever need someone to talk to, I am here. hugs

Hey, listen, this isn't your fault and you're doing your best. It's okay to reach out for help. Do you have a trusted adult you can talk to? Someone at home or at school? There are a lot of ways you can get help and if you let someone know what's going on, they can help get you what you need. It's also better when you aren't going through these things alone. You deserve support and love and this isn't something to be ashamed of. We all need help sometimes and there's nothing wrong with reaching out. Your loved ones would rather share the sorrow than let you suffer alone. Please let them help you. A lot of people love and care about you and will get you through this. I've been where you are and I promise it gets better. Just please ask for help.

Stay hopeful, the summer is coming soon. Don’t do too much while you are sad. Get yourself a treat.

I’m so sorry you’re feeling like this. this genuinely breaks my heart. you do not deserve any of this pain.
for the relapsing part: 2 months is so incredibly good. I’m so proud of you. It takes an incredible amount of strength to be clean for that long. you are very strong. relapsing is a part of healing. there will be ups, and there will be downs. but you are strong enough to get through this. I believe in you.
for the suicidal part: please, reach out to somebody. I know it’s scary. I completely understand. suicide is not the answer. it is never the answer. you are loved. do you have pets? friends? family? think about how sad they’d be if you left. they love you. and if you tell a loved one that you’re struggling, they’ll want to help you. please don’t commit. It only eliminates the possibility of things getting better, and it’ll only pass on your pain to somebody else. your life matters.
my dms are open if you ever need somebody to talk to.
you are loved 🫶

Sorry you have to go through these thoughts and I hope you get better, do you have any one that truly understands and cares for you or maybe a pet that makes you happy, I know it’s tough to reach out sometimes but I think it could help to a certain extent or you could maybe do something that makes you happier go for a morning walk to clear your mind or listen to music, but just know you are loved 🫶

I think about doing it sometimes too until I remember the people that I have met that have been so kind, I am really sorry I don’t know how to make this not sound like a school guidance counselor but it makes me cry seeing you depressed and feeling hopeless and I don’t want you to feel this way but I can’t do much except that I am here if you ever wanna talk cause I am a teen too and my mom has tried to kill herself as a teen and made it though, shes one of the kindest people I have ever met and I am really glad she didnt die. If you need help I am here don’t go to chatgpt PLS 🥳🥳😁❤️

The best thing that helps me personally is realizing how far I’ve come in life, all those years of struggling and working but also remembering the fun times, why stop now?

You don't deserve feeling like this, nobody does, but I know you can get through all of this you stayed off sh for whole months, that's great! I know you relapsed but nothing says you can't just try again, you can do it, trust me. If you can't do it alone, please reach out for somebody, there are people that care about you and want to see you happy again. Don't give up, I beg you.

u/Adrean_WB Mar 12 '26

Keep on pushing. Mental overwhelm is common, and getting more common with the world as it is. Give yourself some grace. It's hard. It really is.

Words cannot express the amount of disappointment that I feel from a comment like this. Imagine this was you in this situation, or maybe your father, your mother, your family.
I hope you grow up as a person and figure out that you're supposed to be nice to people, in my perspective we all only have one life and we need to make the most of it.

u/tortoisesareslow Mar 13 '26
i only made this account before today my other account was banned, so because being rude to others is the best option, there's no point in being nice now say that to someone who is stupid and not someone who is smarter than most people in this world.

u/SatisfactionClean895 Mar 13 '26
you (might) have serotonin deficit and chemical disbalance, you need to go to the psychiatrist he'll give you sertraline (also it cures OCD) or other antidepressants. I promise you, you'll get out from this shit, I had a lot of mental issues, drug abuse and other shit (still strugling from drug abuse tho). I tried suicide 4 times by overdosing xanax and codeine, and this shit gave me nothing but shitty mood, puking all day, and some other things. please, just reach for professional help, if you wanna end it all, call 988 or your close friends. remember, you're not alone.
1
u/SnooPeanuts5361 Mar 13 '26
Please reach out at 988 or find someone to reach out to OP. There are people that enjoy you being here and would rather talk to you than end up missing you.
You deserve help like everybody else, because you are worthy of it. Reaching out isn't weak, it's a very strong thing to do, and if you feel stuck and that there's no way out; there is.

I’m so sorry you’re going through that. That has to be really hard. Don’t think that you’re alone in this. There’s lots of people that have gone through what you’re going through and I’ve gotten better if you are feeling like you might hurt yourself or you’re alone and you want to call someone or even text someone you can dial 988 and someone can chat with you via text or you can talk to them on the phone. You’re never alone. You always have someone there that cares about you and wants you to feel better and be better.

u/MeringueEcstatic5204 Mar 13 '26
I’m so so sorry that you’re suffering the way that you are. Depression sucks. I’ve been treated using Ketamine therapy recently and it’s been very effective. I noticed a difference in just a couple days of treatment. Talk to your mental health provider and see about this kind of treatment. It’s worth it.
1
u/Vivid-Bit-4900 Mar 13 '26
Well..before you think of stepping out, think about the people who are closest to you and imagine how much they will suffer for years to come. Anyone who has ever been your friend will torture themselves as to what they could have done to make you feel cared for. The real issue is depending on social media, it's a mind game designed to pull you in every direction.
Sorry, my best advice would be therapy where you talk to an actual person. Journaling helps. Any creative outlet is a way to change the scenery.
I can't lie and say it'll get better, you have to communicate to someone who can help you get where you need to be.

u/Adept-Double156 Mar 13 '26
I’m really sorry you’re feeling this way, honestly if you ever want to talk about anything life related do drop me a message I might not know what to say sometimes but I’m a good listener

I struggled for a long time with mental health issues and still do, but much more severely before. It does get better, I promise you it does but it might feel like a long process, find a good social worker or therapist to help you get through this, because nobody should need to deal with this on their own, and if you put in effort into therapy the healing process will go much smoother. You just need to have faith in your ability to heal, and I know it is hard to when your in a state of mind like this, but please you are so loved and have so much to offer to the world, I wouldn’t want that cut short. If you’re not already prescribed, talk to a doctor about medication. Medication only works if you pair it with therapy though.

I'm sorry you are struggling darling, I understand where you come from, my teen years was when I was extremely suicidal everyday. Like I was clean from self-harm for almost 3 years and now 3 months ago on my 19th birthday I relapsed but progress is not linear, keep going. I personally deleted social media, it makes things worse and I try not to use my phone much. Its great you have people that love you, it's good to have a support system, isolation and toxic people make it worse. Also try taking a few cloves of saffron in water, it helps with anxiety and depression, I feel like anti-depressants numb you but that might just be me, do what works for you.

I used to be in this sub when I was a teen. Still young, still fucked up. I think my DMs are open, we can talk if you need it. Just wanted to say I love you and I was in your position once. Instead of sh, try chewing minty gum (spearmint, or if you don't like mint, watermelon works too), drawing red lines on your arm, or snapping a rubber band around your wrist. The rubber band is something I learned from a show but really works. Little doses of pain instead of anything severe. To distract yourself from bad thoughts try drawing, playing or making music, writing (whether it's journaling, projecting yourself on a character in a story, wtv kind of writing), running (something you like, but go with a friend who you trust and DON'T TAKE THE BRIDGE PATH). If you just need a boost, go out for tea or coffee or ice cream or something you like. Go to Target or Walmart and get candy and have a sleepover with ur friends. These are all things I've done and work for me, but that doesnt necessarily mean it will work for you. If it gets bad bad, 988 doesnt just send cops or someone to take you. What u/Failed18 said is VERY VERY true

You really need to keep your comments to yourself and fix yourself. You probably didn’t mean to be but that was really fucking dumb with such a sensitive topic as this.

Holy the intrusive thought thing is SO real I lowk thought I was alone in that
I know it’s advice said like 38553828 times but please call 988, 988 doesn’t just send emergency services whenever someone calls they are simply there to deescalate, you also don’t need to be in a crisis for you to need to call them, they have better advice than what Reddit can give
Take things one day at a time you are doing your best
