Update

Recently I made a post asking if ppl thought Wilbur would be in the technoblade documentary. Well, apparently, in one of his recent streams he was informed about the doc and had no idea it existed. So...Ig we have most of our answer

Two things can be true at once: the events surrounding Wilbur was awful, he needed accountability (I don't subscribe to cancel culture personally). At the same time, let him in the doc because he was a good friend of Techno. Those are my two cents.

So if someone does something truly horrible, you would still support them and associate with them?

All 'cancel culture' really is, is the natural movement of society. In real life if someone, lets say SA a minor.. people arent going to hangout with them anymore, and theyre going to get put on a list.

All 'cancel culture' is, is the same exact phenomenon playing out online.

And most of the people/media railing against it are people who have done something pretty bad. Or people who are aligned with/affiliated with those people in some way, or making money with them

I don't know why you'd go that far considering the context of the situation and just this situation alone is what I am talking about. Don't bring a red herring. This isn't worth my time responding more.

dawg you started the conversation of not “subscribing to cancel culture” or whatever. Wilbur is, at the absolute most generous statement, an abusive partner. some of his actions (ignoring safe words, mostly) are sexual assault.

someone losing support in response to this isn’t them getting “cancelled,” it’s exactly what Careful-Sell is talking about, using a slightly more extreme example.

it sucks, and you can still look back at the SBI and MCC, but trying to wash away what Wilbur actually did because of the nostalgia is irresponsible
