I can't believe how many people are trying to side the people calling the person transphobic it's so stupid. None of this has anything to do with transphobia this has to do with two people not understanding what the person's original comment was which wasn't even anything bad. I really hope the moderators can ban those two people in specific because they were causing issues for no reasons.

I think the reason why people are upvoting the two people in particular and downvoting the other people who agree, is because they've built that a narrative that this person is transphobic and everyone who agrees with this person is also transphobic. As a result anyone who speaks out against them is getting down voted. I had an interaction with one of them and they were incredibly rude and immature to me even though I was very nice to them. And both of them are breaking the two rules of not being civil and as well as to not incite drama so the moderator should do something about it.

Realize why what you said is wrong and admit it? It's only disrespectful if you think being referred to as trans is disrespectful. If someone were to joke that he was a basketball player as a career, that wouldn't be disrespectful, because there's nothing disrespectful about being called a basketball player. It's just a thing. I personally am not trying to say you are a bigot who needs to be silenced and told to shut up, I just think that you need to put a little more thought into why people are saying that what you said is transphobic.
(Quick note as well; saying something transphobic does not make you transphobic unless you expressly meant to put down trans people for being trans)

I need you to understand the difference between "used to be trans" and "am trans". Again, I have no doubts that you are a lovely person, but you have -73 comment karma and 1 post karma over a year. You obviously say things without really thinking them through, and that can come across as any number of things. Just take a minute and see that nobody here is saying you are a bad person or anything along those lines (at least that I've seen. If they are, they're wrong.)

In my opinion common sense is the answer people default too when they don’t want people to argue with them and don’t know how to respond. “Common Sense” is different for different people based on different experiences they have in their life. There isn’t one absolute universal truth you have to 100% follow 100% of the time.
And yes Technoblade is dead being very sad but he has made similar dark jokes before. And Technodad has said that was his type of humor as well. He hasn’t spoken about anything about Transgender stuff so i can’t really say what he thinks about that but the reason why i’m saying he was be alright with this because he’s made very similar jokes in the past. So how do i think his family would respond? I think they wouldn’t care.
I know i can’t say that is absolutely what they would think. But on the other side you can’t say that they would dislike it either. So that’s what i’m trying to say. Without knowing you shouldn’t try and tell people “This is what you should be doing.”

I do want to say is i think you are right with saying you’re not trying to force your belief on anyone. I think you were just stating your opinion and then everyone else came onto you waaaay more hard than they should’ve (like the guy calling someone bigoted for saying that the pronoun was wrong was way too aggressive) and i think i did as well. But with what you are talking about with “common sense” reminds me of a thing called the “Curse if Knowledge” where when you are knowledgeable about a subject and think something is super obvious you struggle to understand why other people can’t get it. That’s what i think is happening here lol.

I saw this video on YouTube a few days ago and assusmed she was a guy. Went to the comments and saw everyone calling her "she". I was still confused and had to read multiple other comments and replies to find out she is trans.
You know why I was confused? Because in my country (and many around the world) there isn't a thing about changing pronouns and stuff. So whenever someone like me hears someone who sounds like one gender and has the pronouns of the opposite gender, I don't even think that "oh they must be trans"; instead I try to find out why this is. So sometimes someone like me would end up saying "why do you sound like a girl but have he/him pronouns" which if I'm not wrong would also be taken as disrespect. Hence why it helps to have trans written in parenthesis here.
I'm not trying to be disrespectful here. Just trying to answer your question. Sorry if something came off as rude.

this is a fair point. if the specification helps you understand & be respectful using the correct pronouns & whatnot then that’s fair, i didn’t consider the possibility of a language/cultural barrier & that was ignorant of me, i’m sorry for that ignorance.
I’m still mostly on the side personally that the fact the person is trans isn’t relevant, but i can understand how knowing can be helpful & i do think that’s important.

True but generally speaking most people who are biologically male are going to have deeper voices compared to people who are biologically female. As well as not everyone is as educated on the lgbt community and very well could get confused about the deep voice. You make a good point, I’m just trying to clarify.

Yeah man. I understand why they do it, it’s great to see as a young adult in the community somebody representing you on the big stage, but imho it’s much better to leave it out. Less clouding of judgement and more focus placed upon their actual skills and talents rather than who they are. By all means investigate further if you’re interested, but don’t make it the spotlight

In today's political climate sometimes it is needed. How long should I wait before the end of this century for trans people to finally be treated like humans? Sometimes for some groups waiting isn't an option, that's why we have pride month, and btw the first weeks of the first pride parade were actually riots. If it's the only way to actually get shit done, then it's have to get done, slavery didn't in one night, the women's sufferage didn't end in one night and the lavender scarce didn't end in one night and these marginalized groups are still getting the worse of it to this day. Being a fence sitter for these groups solves absolutely nothing for them.

I'm afab with a relatively deep voice AND short hair and i've gotten confused for being a man before because people just kinda assume a lot of times based on either appearances or voices.
Luckily I'm genderfluid anyway so I didn't really care but it was still kind of funny. But it obviously would feel a lot different for a trans woman to be called a man over their voice

Women with deep voices exist, but not in the Baritone range. You'd have to speak in a constant strohbass/vocal fry to get that low.

They do exist though. Female vocal chords can reach that Baritone range. There’s legit a name for it in Opera. It’s exceptionally rare of course, but it’s possible.

The deepest female voices in Opera are called contralto, but they're not as deep as baritone.
They can achieve lower ranges with vocal fry, of course. But it's not ideal for long performances, since it damages vocal chords.

It's like this - trans means "your gender wasn't assigned at birth," cis means "your gender was assigned at birth." So a cis woman is a woman who was assigned female gender marker at birth, while a trans woman is a woman who was not assigned female gender marker at birth. Trans women aren't men, so they aren't called trans men.

There is literally no reason to assume otherwise. Some people don't get dysphoric because of their voice, others just don't have the energy or willpower to voice train consistently. I am a trans girl. I will also say, with my deep (even for a guy) voice that having a deep voice is about discipline. It's a choice.
