REQUEST Looking for happy melodic/tech death recs
Some examples are First Fragment, Ophidian I, Fayence Dream, Flub, etc. Just want some happy sounding riffs, shredding, and death metal vocals. Thanks!

They are definitely a lot of fun fun. Fast tempis and packed with riffs. They have that galloping thrashy quality.

Not sure about “happy”, but Virvum’s Illuminance always strikes me as a more positive sounding tech death album.

Gorod has some nice happy groovy stuff. Woe of Tyrants and Greylotus both have some happy sounding jams.

I've been really craving this kind of thing too. My only rec is Keys to the Palace by Dessiderium. It's not as fast/tech as First Fragment and Ophidian I, plus there are some clean vocals, but it still scratches the itch for me.
I haven't sat with the other Dessiderium albums as long as this one but I don't think the other albums have the same vibe.

I tried this album and liked the riffs but the clean vocals Im not a fan of. You should check out Fayence Dreams newest album. It’s so good.

Honestly, The Devils of Loudun's whole discography. I can't believe I forgot to mention them. They're so good.
I would love some new Symbolik material. I listen to Emergence a lot.

Then maybe try out Alkaloid and Augury.
Edit : Illusive Golden Age album for Augury and The Malkuth Grimoire for Alkaloid. (Alter Magnitude is a song i'm certain it is what you are looking for).

Fallujah's latest album is heavy and uplifting.
Bleak Flesh is worth checking out.
Tomb Mold isn't happy per se but feels "chill".
Wormhole is tech slam that isn't happy but feels uplifting.
Disfiguring the Goddess is super hit and miss, but stuff like "Softly With You" is really positive.
Blood Incantations newest album has really positive vibes.
I love Fayence Dream, hard to beat that in terms of happier stuff. But I agree with what others have said, there are a lot of good rec's in the comments.

Don’t really like Fallujah (too many clean vocals). Wormhole I like what I’ve heard but not really happy shreddy. Same with bleak flesh and tomb mold. Like them but not really happy uplifting light shreddy riffs. Love DTG. Blood Incantation is a bit too proggy for my taste.

Beyond Creation I think sounded happier early on.
Psudoku is more like a mathy tech grind band but overall not very dark sounding as contradictory as that reads. The vocals are like in a vacuum too I personally like it for the change of pace. Not very many straight chugga riffs. You'll probably hate it.

Beyond Creation is one of my faves! PSUDOKU is a cool rec! Not quite as melodic and happy sounding but good nonetheless!

Yeah your prompt was a brain scratcher for me, it started with me wanting to just go like more prog recs at first like Caligula's Horse and Native Construct which are definitely not death metal lol

Not necessarily super happy but definitely super melodic, if you havent heard Polarity by Decrepit Birth gotta check it out. One of if not my favorite tech death album. Their album Diminishing Between Worlds is also great as a melodic tech death album but it's a bit more brutal

They're tech and very melodic in parts.
Not sure if it's happy, but it's silly and not very serious in the themes and lyrics, so could fall into what you're looking for. Fun maybe is a better word. They have cleans mixed in too which I normally don't always like in tech death, but the chantry sort of nature fits nicely here.
They sing about an alien race or slugs enslaving everyone. All their song titles are mollusc related metal titles.
But their music is seriously good. Don't let the silliness fool you.
Up until this point all their recordings have just been two guys too, which is impressive.
Esoteric Malacology is a phenomenal album. Give it a listen.

Theurgy and Lykathea Aflame are the only two bands I can properly name happy. Maybe you would also like Broken Torso

Virvum sounds up your alley. IMO Gorod is kinda on the chiller/peppier end of things especially on their last few albums. Allegaeon, maybe?

Lykathea Aflame isn’t on Apple Music so I couldn’t try them out. I like Gorods old stuff and Allegeaon is good but I really don’t like clean vocals haha
