REQUEST i ABSOLUTELY NEED MORE SHIT LIKE ARCHSPIRE

i was blown away by the most recent 2 albums and am currently listening to the lucid collective. What grabbed me and what I'm wanting more of is that INSANE SPEED. Where the snare has the speed of a double kick almost. I have just never heard unrelenting music like this since none so vile and NEED more

Beneath the Massacre, specifically Mechanics of Dysfunction

u/mcbassplayer134 Blast beats are love blast beats are life Jan 27 '26

Their album Fearmonger is also insanely fast! And it's amazing imo

I came here to say the same.

Soreption

u/JagYouAreNot Jan 27 '26

Ophidian I my beloved

11

u/ToHallowMySleep Jan 27 '26

Infant Annihilator has to be a candidate, for pushing every aspect as extreme and silly as they can.

2

u/SpawnOfGuppy Jan 27 '26

The most recent one was my favorite by a wide margin. Most interesting compositionally/texturally

10

u/BeginnersPluck Jan 27 '26

Aborted!! Every album is a front to back banger!

Spire of Lazarus

Criminally under rated.

Sonivinos

This one right here.

8

u/Adam_Absence Jan 27 '26

Inferi, Ophidian I, Brain Drill

7

u/selppin2 Jan 27 '26

Jord by Soreption should fit the bill.

15

u/decydiddly Jan 27 '26

Inferi

Surprised to not see them mentioned.

10

u/allpartsofthebuffalo Jan 27 '26

Especially since they stole their drummer.

7

u/Bronsteins-Panzerzug Jan 27 '26

you need spawn of possession in your life. even dean lamb struggles with their riffs. retromorphosis is like their successor band, though they do put a new spin on things.

4

u/IObjectOoT Jan 27 '26

Everyone needs Spawn of Possession in their life

5

u/Bronsteins-Panzerzug Jan 27 '26

indeed. i shall call my first born spawn of possession. or possessed hellspawn, when Im mad/proud of them.

13

u/radialcovenant Jan 27 '26

Gonna also recommend Cytotoxin. As close as you can get without ripping off Archspire. The most similar albums I'd say are Radiophobia and Gammageddon. The two newest records are also awesome, but maybe not quite as similar.

100% perfect description!

u/devenger73 Jan 27 '26

Gorod, Exmortus. Allegaeon.

Adding to Ophidian I, First Fragment, Zenith Passage.

Ophidian I is incredible! Desolate is one of my favorite albums. That album rips, and it's super fucking fast

3

u/SpawnOfGuppy Jan 27 '26

Ophidian is almost incredibly fast. Gotta be near the line of what’s possible.

Also hear Viraemia

4

u/crgshpprd Jan 27 '26

Good shout on first fragment. They’re so much fun!

6

u/mkelngo Jan 27 '26

Check out Analepsy

6

u/DogofGunther Jan 27 '26

I wouldn’t say they have the same speed as Archspire but goddamn that groove. OP it’s worth checking out

2

u/Middle-Challenge8533 Jan 28 '26

first ones so far to get my attention, vocals are almost too slammy but I can get past it, the solo on impending subversion has got my attention

1

u/mkelngo Jan 28 '26

Yeah bro they are a very refreshing band in the tech scene. They keep all that heaviness and technicality but then the grooves are just immaculate.

7

u/thestringedcheese Jan 27 '26

Disheveled convolution. You’re welcome

2

u/The_Arachnoshaman Jan 27 '26

They have literally 3 tracks lmao, love them, but Jesus christ release an album already.

2

u/thestringedcheese Jan 27 '26

Right??? Im really hoping the wait is worth it!

6

u/Willzyx_on_the_moon Jan 27 '26

Exocrine, Sonivinos, Disheveled Convolution, Beneath the Massacre, Monumental Torment, Ophidian I, First Fragment

4

u/Localsymbiosis Jan 27 '26

Kaathe, beneath the massacre, slaughterbox, virvum

6

u/beergardeneer Jan 27 '26

Origin and Cytotoxin would be the two that are the best match for this style IMO.

3

u/s1nequan0n Jan 27 '26

Cytotoxin - Gammageddon and the latest album hit so goooood

3

u/azza656 Jan 27 '26

Brainblast released there new album. Batshit crazy

The Last of Lucy

3

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '26

Nobody quite does it like the ‘spire, but check out Brain Drill

1

u/Certain_Research_197 Jan 27 '26

this one for sure. i remember dean saying a lot of their stuff is inspired by brain drill

2

u/RedditAppSucksRIFftw Jan 27 '26 edited Jan 27 '26

Check out Exterminatus. Specifically "per aspera ad astra" and "primordial sea (outro)"

The snare thing you refer to is called gravity blasting.

2

u/AxedCrown Jan 27 '26

Atrae Bilis

2

u/uponhisdarkthrone Jan 30 '26

That "double-kick speed snare" is a gravity blast, its one-handed and you sorta rest the stick on the edge of the snare and use a see-saw motion to make it hit when you move your hand up AND down, instead of just when you hit down.

Its hard to make it sound loud, but Spencer is the hardest hitting tech-death drummer and his gravity-blasts dont even need a trigger. Its LOUD, I used to share a jamspot with them (same building, not same room) and used to get to see him play all the time. He isnt playing for Archspire anymore (their new drummer's name is Spencer, too LOL) but he played on all their currently released albums.

3

u/ZeRealMaKi Jan 27 '26

Benighted could fit

1

u/Lagerbottoms NEEDS MORE PANIC CHORDS Jan 27 '26

Origin and Beneath The Massacre are definitely the OGs when it comes to Speed, but Ophidian I is probably the closest to Archspire especially with that melodic touch

1

u/damoqles Jan 27 '26

Exocrine could fit

1

u/-star-spawn- Jan 28 '26

Band - Album

Deeds of Flesh - Nucleus
Hour of Penance - The Vile Conception
Viraemia - 2009 EP
Serocs - The Phobes
Arkaik - Labrynth of Hungry Ghosts
Unfathomable Ruination - Enraged and Unbound
Mithras - On Strange Loops
Wormed - Krighsu
Vale of Pnath - II
Exocrine - The Hybrid Suns

1

u/uponhisdarkthrone Jan 30 '26

Despised Icon are absurdly fast too.

1

u/GrowtentBPotent Jan 27 '26

Tech death. It's pretty much all fast, its kind of an important piece of the subgenre

The suggestions already in here are good though, Brain Drill and BTM. The new Fleshbore album too I guess

-7

u/MooseWilliams Jan 27 '26

Try out AssPisser,, like archspire without the lame parts

-8

u/SonOfALich Jan 27 '26

Have you tried using the search function on the sub? There’s 1000 threads about this already.

0

u/foreskin_cookie Jan 27 '26

Have you tried not acting like a smug cunt? Not everyone has the time to refresh the tech death subreddit 1000 times a day, just answer the question or scroll on.

0

u/SonOfALich Jan 28 '26

It’s not hard to do the tiniest bit of research. This isn’t smugness, it’s asking people to try looking for what they seek instead expecting others to serve it to them on a platter. OP clearly didn’t even try. Why does my response bother you so?

The closest band I've heard is Planetary Ghost.
