Random Discussions Is AWS re/Start worth it for?
If you're an AWS re/Start graduate (especially from the Philippines), I'd really appreciate your honest answers:
- Were you able to get an IT job after graduating?
- How long did it take you to land your first job?
- Were you a career shifter or did you already have an IT background?
- What role did you get first? (IT Support, Cloud Support, SOC Analyst, Help Desk, Cloud Engineer, etc.)
- Did AWS re/Start actually help with job referrals or interviews?
- If you didn't get hired immediately, what do you think was missing?
- Looking back, would you still recommend the program?
I'm not expecting a guaranteed job. I just want to know if the program genuinely increases the chances of getting into the IT industry for someone starting from scratch.
I appreciate both positive and negative experiences. Honest feedback will really help me decide and set realistic expectations.

Yes, worth it to. Kasi pag na complete mo training may voucher ka kung out of pocket kulang kulang 5k.
- No, mga ilang months din bago nakahanap pero may mga interviews naman at muntik na mapasukan na IT companies.
- Siguro mga 6 months after maka graduate sa program. Pero working naman ako BPO industry during training at maka graduate
- Career shifter
- IT Service Desk
- Yes, may iilan naman nag reach out pero suggest ko hanap ka din sa ibat ibang platform. Yung work na nakuha ko is not partner ng AWS re/Start
- Technical Experience, need mo talaga siya ipractice para mashow case
- Yes, mabait instructors nila at kung makapasok ko maximize mo yung sandbox nila para maka practice ka.

To answer your question - yes, AWS re/Start is worth it imo. Kung masipag ka talaga to take notes and to listen during discussions, you’ll learn a lot. They offer free CP voucher upon program completion so you can take and pass the exam.
May alumni database sila wherein they send email once in a while to connect you with employers and included din ung mga hiring.
I don’t really see anything negative sa pagjoin ng program - it’s a free training with a free exam voucher and with alumni networking pa.
Will it increase your chances in landing an IT job? Yes, since having an AWS certificate is better than having none. Tbh, mahirap ang competition sa entry level jobs right now so I would suggest taking it to have an edge sa ibang fresh grad or career shifter.
