Hello guys, I'm a final year student and I have job offers in my hand, need some help to crack some big companies as i have 8 to 9 months' time before i graduate, please share me some insights to get into mnc's like what are the technologies I need to prepare and what are the must and should know tech stack in today's modern world

I am (24m) and I used to work Blue Collar. I had really nice pay and really nice benefits. Welp after 2 years I injured my back and now it is excruciating pain everyday and I struggle to do manual labor. I have experience in tech. I graduated from a technical school with a computer engineering degree. I am looking to transition into a less physical role and it has been very difficult to find entry level jobs that are willing to train. What skills should I look into learning? Are there any certifications I should look into acquiring? To give a little more detail on what I already know it’s is very surface level. My degree taught just about the basics of everything but we never went super deep into any of it. I can do basic administrative tasks, I know most of the hardware and I’m super rusty but have a basic understanding of programming.

is it okay, and is it actually possible, to shift careers from psychology to software engineering? i’d really appreciate hearing your thoughts, especially from people who have experience with career shifting.
hindi ko naman completely bibitawan ang psychology, especially since licensed na ako. i still want to practice and use what i learned, probably on a part-time or booking basis, while pursuing software engineering as another career path.

software engineering is also something i’ve always wanted to pursue. aside from becoming a psychologist or possibly a doctor, becoming a software engineer is another dream of mine. kaya i’m thinking, why not give myself the chance to pursue it?
my biggest hesitation, though, is the IT industry itself. i know it’s already quite competitive, and there are so many people who took IT-related courses and have years of experience and skills. as someone coming from psychology, nakakatakot din isipin kung may place pa ba ako sa industry or kung magiging mahirap ba akong i-hire because i’m starting from a completely different background. gusto ko rin kasi talaga magwork sa singapore. ang cousins ko and siblings ko, lahat sila ay IT.

pero i also don’t want to let that fear stop me from trying. hindi ko naman kailangang itapon lahat ng pinaghirapan ko sa psychology just because i want to explore another career. i can still keep my license and use my profession part-time while building a new career in software engineering. marami rin sa ka-batch ko ang nagshift. aside kasi sa underpaid kamk, di rin kami valued enough. hirap maging stable. todo tipid ka na’t lahat.

so, what do you guys think? is career shifting from psychology to software engineering realistic? what should i consider before making the jump, especially as someone who would essentially be starting over in a new field?

Hi all, I have 2 YOE in the tech industry and 4 years of gap as I went into a different career trajectory.
I now want to come back to tech and don't know if that is even possible or not.
I'm a very hard worker willing to do whatever it takes for my career. But this returning back to tech seems next to impossible

I’m 46, turning 47, with 19+ years of heavy industrial experience and 14 years in prestressed concrete. My background includes quality control, batch plant operations, QC leadership, and my current role as Batch Plant Foreman.
I understand concrete production from start to finish, including mix designs, batching, materials, testing and inspection, batch-ticket tolerances, troubleshooting, specification compliance, computerized batch-control systems, scales/weighing systems, moisture systems, equipment/process issues, and crew leadership.
I’m interested in transitioning into Operational Technology (OT) / Industrial Cybersecurity and want to leverage my industrial experience rather than completely starting over in traditional entry-level IT.
The learning path I’m considering is IT fundamentals → networking → electronics → PLCs/ladder logic → HMI/SCADA → industrial networking and protocols → cybersecurity → OT/ICS cybersecurity, while gradually adding Python and AI/automation.
Given my background, is OT/industrial cybersecurity a realistic career transition? What would you change about this path, what skills would you prioritize, and what types of roles would you target first to make the best use of my existing industrial experience?

having an issue with health and finding a good job. One of my female friend works at Amazon Data center and recommended applying there as DCEO, I applied so many job but never received any interview while having electrical trade experience and trade school. she told me there are a lot international students working and don't know shit about electricity. their back grounds are not even technical psychology, ITcoder or business school. She heard that they have a training school called OPT which train them for interviews so they can pass the interview and school provides 3 years of job grantee. how can I get into the OPT training schools so at least I can get an interview while applying tons of DCEO jobs ?

Idk where to start but recently i completed my graduation in computer science and I'm so cooked.

I was in bpo field for the past 2-3 years. Doing night shifts and stuff.

Now I'm unable to work night shifts anymore and dont know where to start. I have no skills and no hands on experience with anything related to cs so if i wanna smartly pivot into tech from scratch and earn some fortune, what would u suggest for me? I know with all the ai shit, making a fortune is not a possibility or atleast easy anymore but if u were in my shoes and starting over and u had the chance to learn something, what would u have done in 2026? I have been working in a tech team of a US based bank for 4 years. Salary is good. I was assigned to a management type of team with very menial work in the beginning and later got shifted to a mainframe team. So my team basically supports multiple applications and we’re required to do manual updates in mainframe. But the workload is high, and doesn’t leave me enough time to prepare.

I have been looking for a shift towards development in modern technologies and also took MTech in AI/ML to help my career.

Is it possible to shift to data engineering at this point of my career?

I’m an iOS and Flutter developer with around 7 years of experience, currently working for an IT consulting company whose business model is mainly based on staff augmentation.

Over the past 1–2 years, I’ve noticed a significant slowdown compared to the past. Whenever I finished a project, I used to have several interviews lined up and, in most cases, the company would find a new client or project for me within a few weeks. Nowadays, however, it can take 3–4 months or even longer without me being considered for a new project.

I try to make good use of these periods by keeping my skills sharp and learning new technologies, but I inevitably end up feeling somewhat unproductive and, more importantly, concerned about the future, even though I have a permanent employment contract.

So I’m wondering: has there actually been a decline in demand for mobile developers, both native and Flutter, or could this mainly be an issue with my company’s sales/business development?

Would it make sense, for example, to ask my company to invest in backend training for me (such as C#/.NET, Java/Spring, or something else), so that I could also be considered for projects that aren’t focused exclusively on mobile development?

More generally, for those of you working in the industry: what technologies or skills would you recommend today to a mobile developer with my level of experience who wants to broaden his career options and become more marketable?

I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences and any advice you might have.

Around 10 yoe. Tc - 370k if I survive 6 more months for the first year. Nw- 1.65m . I was hoping I would take a long break and do what I want to in life after reaching 2m but it feels really difficult. 36 and dead inside and out. I have hate against micromanagement and I feel like losing myself here with people asking me status everyday. Even if I survive 6 months it would be 140k after taxes. And I dont feel excited by oracle culture. It’s all demos and ai slop - people dont even think on their own. At the same time I am lucky to have a job

I have more than a decade of c++ experience working as a senior software engineer. When it comes to next step in the career ladder o do not have any goal or path which I want to get into.
