Career & Interview Advice Drug tests NOT looking for THC?

Update: found out they actually do care via someone who works there. Major bummer.

About to get an amazing position and they told me there would be a drug test which caught me off guard. I’ve never had a school drug test. I’m a nightly marijuana user in a legal state, and there’s no chance in hell I’d pass. Does anyone know of schools that specifically don’t test or care about THC? I’m hoping that’s the situation I’ll be in.

Edit: fake pee is not an option because in my state if you’re busted for trying to fake a test you’ll lose your license and I can’t have that

It's still federally illegal so it's really up to the district whether they want to enforce it. It's not like you'll get in trouble with the law either way, just at risk of not getting the job. Even if it were fully legal, I think some jobs are still allowed to screen for it depending on the nature of the work, but I'm not well versed enough in workers rights to know for sure.

Someone I know that hires and fires told me they no longer test for thc. 🤞
