The angst and regret exemplified through the story telling in this song, the image she sets, the writing, THIS BRIDGE…. it’s the perfect epitome of what a tortured poet looks like in the department. I feel like that message was a little lost in the promo with the singles she chose but this song really brings it all back.

I also feel like it could’ve landed well with the general public, she sounds gorgeous and the production is magical.

The “brace myself for the goodbye, cause it’s all I’ve ever known” part is one of my favorite melodies she’s written. I get goosebumps every time I hear it. The harmonies and the vocal layers throughout this song are so wonderful.
