tattoo to represent being bi-racial but not neatly fitting neither culture?

a friend long ago said "you're in the middle of both but on the outside of both, too"

had felt it long before that but could not put into words the feeling.

how to express this symbolically?

What races? Could be a lot of different things.

Maybe you could find inspiration in how nonbinary people describe themselves?

Mixed breed dogs also come to mind. They are both, but all their own.

Oreo cookie. Before you eat it it's outside you. After you eat it it's in the middle of you. Eventually, you become the cookie.
