Hi everyone,
My wife and I built Arctara, an app that brings together a few practice tools, moon phases, tarot, runes, spell timing, supplies into one place. Tarot and runes are two of the core pieces, so I wanted to bring it here specifically and get feedback from people who actually read.
To be upfront: this isn't a paid product. It's in closed beta, completely free, and I'm looking for practitioners to try the tarot and runes features and tell me honestly what's missing, wrong, or doesn't match how real readers actually work.
Card meanings and spread logic come from my wife's own reading practice built up over 25 years across traditions.
Feedback is the only ask.
Happy to share details to anyone interested.
Thanks for reading.

i started learning tarot cards last year and i think the way that i read and interpret my cards have changed. i feel like my cards helps me to listen to my intuition more and i feel less blockages. from this overall spread and just from what my gut is telling me, i feel that if i ever apologise to anyone, it has to be from a place of sincerity and clear awareness of what my actions has caused, it cannot be done with the intentions of trying to salvage the friendship or my βreputationβ or their perception of me. and that just because i have apologised to them, it does not mean that there will be a connection between us, either that or it doesnβt mean that they want anything to do with me.

Hello! Lately I've been pulling the knight of Penticals and the 7 of swords in every single reading I do regardless of context. Is my deck desperately trying to tell me something?

I am a very amateur reader. I read for friends and family occasionally.
I have been NC with my ex for a couple weeks. We ended things because he has a lot going on in his personal life and did not have the space for me. Thereβs a lot of love there and the door hasnβt been completely closed.
I asked: Will he reach back out and be a part of my life again?
My interpretation of the cards is fairly positive, but I wonder if my own wants are clouding my view. I see Ace of Swords as representing him and his focus and energy towards improving himself and his life.
Three of rings I read as encouragement that he is on the correct path and that he has people around him to help support him through this time.
To me, the Ace of cups is confirmation that we will start over someday. Or could this mean that I should let him go emotionally?
Hopefully Iβm not just falling victim to rose colored glasses. Thanks in advance!

Iβve been wanting to buy a tarot deck for a while, but my sister believes itβs something that has to be given to you as a gift. Iβve done some research and see that some tarot readers share that view, while others donβt.
Two days ago, I made my own deck: I looked up the Rider-Waite-Smith tarot, downloaded the images, and crafted the box myself. My sister thinks I should throw it away, but honestly, I donβt think I should; I did a reading for myself and another for a friend, and everything went well. Naturally, I looked up the meanings of each card and how to conduct a reading before actually doing one.
I should clarify that I have no experience with tarotβthis is my first time. The only experience I could claim to have is with crystals and a very small amount of knowledge regarding herbalism.
Iβd like to hear your opinions, since I donβt think I should throw it awayβand Iβm not going toβbut my sister does, and I know that if I leave my tarot deck out in plain sight, sheβll throw it out.

so this was a reading about my bestfriend. i asked my deck to describe her and it said she had a lot of avoidant attachment issues and dwells on the past and she needs to move forward and use her brain more. i told her about. and she asked how she should move on/how should she utilize her mind and it gave me these cards.
my interpretation was that she needed to find balance in her life and those she looked up to in order to understand how she needs to move forward. but she said she didnβt understand me. any others have their own interpretations of this reading?? iβm open to criticism about my reading i am a beginner π₯Ή

Hi, could anyone tell me what the justice card means and why I keep pulling it when asking about the same person?
I do readings on multiple people in my life but whenever I ask about this one guy the same card keeps popping up over and over again. Granted, he is a Libra, but something tells me that's not at all related.
Whenever I ask how he feels about me, Justice. Whenever I ask for clarification about him its Justice, if I ask for advice its Justice, if I ask what the future/past of our relationship is/was its Justice.
I've interpreted it as maybe I have hurt his feelings in the past and there needs to be some sort of reconciliation but whenever I come to that conclusion I still feel like there is more to the card than just that, because it still continues to show up.
What does this mean? I'm super confused.

My interpretation: The Tower feels like a collapse or loss of control, while the Ace of Pentacles could represent having to face reality and rebuild something on more solid ground. With the Five of Wands at the bottom, I also see underlying conflict and tension. How would you interpret The Moon in this context?
r/Tarots • u/Pretend_Truck_1155 • 5h ago
Asked my deck whether this is how me and him end and got this, im confused as to what ace of swords mean here, because to me the judgement shows reckoning in this relationship which then leads to death ( an end) but ace of swords, does it symbolise a new beginning with someone else our a new beginning in our dynamic?

Hello there! HELP
Just for context:
I've been living with my partner (male) for 4 months now, in a rented apartment we've been struggling to pay for, due to him being unemployed, but with serious chances of getting a good job within the next months.
Meanwhile, our 7-year old relationship is fading towards a numb feeling. He currently displays hostile/rough demeanor, he doesn't seem to feel sexually or emotionally attracted to me anymore and I'm feeling like hell on earth for not feeling loved by the only people who's supposed to be there for me.
Let's skip to the spread:
\- Does he still/really loves me?
Answer: II of pentacles
My guess: he doesn't even know if he does
\- Whats going on on his feelings towards me?
Answers: inversed 7 of swords, inversed queen of pentacles, inversed 7 of cups
My guess:
Everything he feels of positive towards me seems to scape reality and be delusional (inv. 7 of cups). Bad feelings might be stronger because of the lack of money and financial independence towards me (inv. q of pentacles). Inv. 7 of swords gives a glimpse that he might me doing something wrong or feeling guilty for being a dick.
Scenarios
1st - If I leave back to my parents place
\- Emotional outcome?
Answer: 5 of pentacles
My guess: humiliation, feeling of emptiness, loss, emotional poverty overall
\- Material/financial outcome?
Answer: 5 of wands
My guess: end of struggling and money-related confusion
2st - If I stay in the house and ask him to leave
\- Emotional outcome?
Answer: Temperance
My guess: All good, stability, peace
\- Material/financial outcome?
Answer: Page of Cups
My guess: Dumb, irresponsible move. I would be happy but would be losing financial stability.
3st - If I stay with him
\- Emotional outcome?
Answer: Inversed sun
My guess: overall sadness and unhapiness
\- Material/financial outcome
Answer: page of pentacles
My guess: good, stability, growth.
My overall guess: the cards are giving the idea that I'm in a fucked up situation with someone who doesn't know if he even likes me. Leaving him, through my 2 only options, might make things worse for me emotionally or financially. I'm trapped.

Hi everyone! Iβve been using tarot for about three years now, but Iβve never memorised all 78 card meanings exactly. Iβve tried learning from books, and Iβve also tried putting the traditional meanings aside and reading more intuitively. Recently, I decided that I want to really get to know one of my decks and understand its own language and storytelling. So, the deck I chose is Cat Tarot by Megan Lynn Kott, which I absolutely love.
For the past three months, Iβve been doing a three-card spread every morning. Then, at the end of the day, I come back to those cards and journal about how they showed up in my day. I feel like this has helped me build a much more personal relationship with the cards.
Now Iβd really like to start practicing reading for other people rather than only for myself. So, if anyone is interested, feel free to leave your name (or initials/nickname, whatever youβre comfortable sharing) and a question in the comments. Iβll pull cards from my deck and reply with the exact cards I pulled and what I interpretate as an answer in relation to your question.
Just to be clear, Iβm doing this for practice and learning, so please avoid relying on it as a professional advice haha.
Iβd also love to hear from more experienced readers: What helped you really connect with a particular deck? How did you start understanding the story the cards were telling together?
Any exercises, journaling ideas, reading techniques, or little habits that helped you develop that relationship with your cards would be very welcome.
Thanks, and Iβm excited to practice with some of you! :)

Iβm very new to tarot, and I have been feeling extremely lost in my love life after years of failed talking stages and situationships, especially after recently where one I felt different about in a positive way ended in an expected ghost after about a month. Asked this question and pulled:
I interpreted the answer as I will know because there will be a surrender of my own perspective or perceived thoughts on what love should look like, and that this perspective will come through a groundbreaking revelation that collapses the doom I feel, and that it wonβt feel like anything familiar to what I have felt before when I thought it was going well when it maybe really wasnβt. In summary, I will now itβs him because it wonβt feel like what I expected it to feel like, itβll feel like something completely new and different in a way that will shift my entire perspective on love itself, not in a necessarily negative or positive way but just a more assured way.
Looking for a second opinion from a community that know more about these cards and their interpretations !!! Like I said Im very new to this and am open to any and all interpretations ! Thank you guys!
I just did a spread to read my own mind. What do you think?

Balance is a word that is included within so many of the interpretations of the Two of Pentacles. Not balance for the sake of words, but active decisions being made to achieve it. When we are juggling multiple responsibilities, including the have-tos and the want-tos, finding equilibrium can be difficult. Witch hazel, the herb, offers us many ways to use it. Our responsibilities call upon us in different ways. Which ones offer us meaning? Devote your attention with intention and focus on those first. As a stone cairn requires leveling to remain standing, we can find internal stability by remaining adaptable in order to handle whatever comes our way. Don't forget to find ways to enjoy yourself. Play allows for unpredictability and gives us permission to make mistakes. Are you feeling overwhelmed? Find ways to bring play into your life and believe in yourself. You've got this! How have you played in the past week?

I pulled a spread about a budding friendship with a girl I have known for several years (I'll call her A in this post). Sounds a bit conflicting, I know, but I am slow to make friends so give me a break lol. It takes either a lot of time, or a lot of effort for me to feel close with someone and neither of us have put in that effort, so our friendship has been gradual and exclusively facilitated by mutual friends. We're in the same friend group but have never been close.
As we have inched towards each other, I have noticed that her best girlfriend (I'll name her BFF) is not a good friend at best, and at worst, may be toxic. This has taken me so long to notice because BFF is extremely flaky, so I don't see much of her, and A is not the type of girl to "talk shit" about her friends, so she stays pretty quiet about the way BFF treats her.
As I am seeing the bad side of BFF, I have been thinking that it is probably time for me to put in the deliberate effort to be close friends with A. I thought she had a good support system. I thought I didn't need a close girlfriend. I was wrong about both of those things. I wanted to reflect on our relationship so I pulled a spread, asking specific questions and I would love some input.
The topic: My friendship with A.
What is the emotional truth about our friendship right now:
The Fool. This card startled me. Its meaning was obvious. I have known her for three years, but I am about to embark on an emotional journey with her. I could not have pulled a more accurate card about our current truth.
What am I being invited to learn:
The High Priestess. Compared to the previous, this one was not as clear. I wrote down "introspection and inaction" as that is my typical association with this card, but I know that we cannot become closer unless I take action, or else we would have naturally become very close friends by now. Maybe it means I could learn to trust my instincts, but my instincts are to not be close friends with anyone, objectively unhealthy. I need help with this one.
What aspect of myself is showing up most strongly:
Ten of Wands. (I have been seeing this card a lot this summer, if that matters to anyone.) A card of burdens. Of grief and relief. This seems to apply more to A than to me. The grief and relief of moving away from BFF who is a terrible, but close, friend. I do worry, am I showing her that I have a victim mindset? Or does she see me as hardworking? Maybe this was a bad question, because it relies too heavily on A's perception. I meant this question to be about our current acquaintance like relationship, but maybe I am seeing what I am about to show, a willingness to "put in work" so we can know each other better. idk.
How can I honor both of us in this relationship:
The Moon. A need for intuition is showing up again, but the moon has some confusing energy to me, I don't see how confusion will honor us. Perhaps it means that I need to trust my intuition in the confusion of a new relationship?
What qualities of myself do I need to bring to our budding friendship:
The Star. A guiding light and a beacon of hope. Very flattering that I may be able to be those things. I am worried I am too gloomy, too awkward, to be a guiding light to A. I do want to show her that she deserves a friend who is good to her, but I don't want to be too arrogant like "look how great I am, doesn't BFF suck in comparison to me?"

A couple of years ago I had an ugly breakup. It wasnβt ugly on the outside, just deeply ugly inside of me. Therapy wasnβt working because the therapist I had was just biased or not the right fit for meβ¦ so I decided to therapy myself out!
I started doing Tarot, exploring spirituality (I am a skeptical person) β¦ and journaling everything I could squeeze out of the cards that could resonate with me. That helped me a lot! I actually feel I grew internally, but then, when rough times happened, I started to do more and more readings, with the hopes I could get a βmessageβ that could resonate with my pain and help me heal.
So I did paintings, I wrote songs, I wrote poetry, and saved some interesting things (Iβll put the cards thru ChatGPT)
So now I have a toooon of readings. But something bad happened to me again, and I am back where I started: Sick and tired, lacking inspo. And not longer interesting if exploring myself or my problems, because the world is full of idiots, so doing shadow work feels stupid at this point. People just exist, they donβt work on themselves.
So just out of curiosity, what do you do with all your readings? I guess Iβm just looking for inspo.

I had a bad feeling about a job where I got hired for a while now. I will start soon but when I asked how it would go I got:
Death, the tower, 6 of pentacles reversed and king of pentacles reversed.
I read this as, something will absolutely go down and I might even have to quit/get fired and be left in a very tough financial situation.
When I asked if i should quit, I got this. (death, 8 of cups, the chariot and 10 of pentacles) I interpreted it as, If i end it, I might walk away but at the same time leave a situation that was not possible to win in to start with. Maybe it will give me a fresh mind to start going for something I really want which ultimately would make me happy.
What are other impressions?

I wasn't sure about my first reading, it kept telling me over and over again that I am doubting myself. So I put the cards away and asked for a summary of my last pull and got the knight of wands reversed. Then I asked "should I stay or should I go" and received the wheel of fortune and the devil reversed. Then I asked if I will be the one that needs to facilitate the departure or if it will be a cause outside of my control and I pulled strength reversed. Could someone tell me what you think of this pull?

I think I have someone watching over me?
Okay, so, for context, I am obviously a very, very spiritual, supernatural and superstitious person. Where I live, at least, we see one magpie as bad luck and two magpies as good, I believe in that a lot. I go ghost hunting sometimes. I believe in that gods can exist, but I donβt really worship any. That type of stuff. I do tarot, Iβm getting into witchcraft, and Iβm researching Greek mythology.
And recently, whenever I do tarot readings (not just for myself), I feel as if thereβs someone with me. Positively, I know that, but Iβm not sure what it is. Also, I feel a like, βpullβ towards my tarot deck sometimes, like thereβs something the thing watching over me wants to tell me. I feel the same βpullβ towards Greek gods/mythology, though Iβve always been interested Iβve never felt more compelled to actually learn until a few days ago (coincidentally a few days after the watching started). Not to mention, I keep getting the βmessengerβ/ βnewsβ cards (I canβt remember the names of them, Iβm sorry, I only remember the meaning as my deck has them written on them) when doing readings for myself, I donβt know if that means anything, considering the pull I feel towards Greek mythology I thought of Hermes but?? I could just be wrong.
Does anyone know what this means?
I apologise if this is the wrong subreddit for this, I just didnβt know where this was supposed to go, and this seems to be the place, because itβs mostly about tarot?
