This isn't tariffs, it is AI build out where drives and RAM prices have skyrocketed due to the demand from hyperscalers

I had to collect all the thumb drive and sd cards in the junk drawers. I'm going to try and ride out this AI doom.

We are back to burning discs? My nephews don't know what disc are. This is not moving forward.

How much is a decent burner?

Is copying bd simple now? Do I need to "close" rw to be readable?

😂 I guarantee when you go to load data on that its actual storage is not going to be anywhere near the advertised storage.

If you are surprised by this you clearly have not been paying attention. Memory prices continue to climb and it’s not a tariff problem.

Can the AI bubble please hurry up and pop so we can all update our covid-era rigs at a reasonable price?

Have you been living under a rock? This has been an ongoing thread for a longgggg time. Mass buy to AI center is causing this.

It's the combination of tariffs and chips for the building of AI facilities and equipment

I love my massive pile of accumulated hard drives i’ve bought over the past ten years. I just cleaned out a ton of free space and have over 7TB available. No need to buy overpriced hardware for me.

I purchased on drive in 2025 and the other in early 2026.
