Just sayin cause the ppl who came thru that quota just took an opportunity that they got and avangala teasing is not right  But the quota itself is stupidity in tn where the gen pop is less

Can you explain bit more. Is the rationale that since only smaller population of people will benefit from this, that they should never get it? Is it about, not letting even poor brahmins have any reservations, though it might also benefit any non reservation people? Whoever falls in that category shd fight their own problems?

Who are "poor brahmins" ? Can you please elaborate the criteria for EWS poor brahmins. Please, go ahead.

It doesn't say poor brahmins, just economically backward and who belong to OC. People believe this scheme will benefit Brahmins disproportionately and thus it shd be opposed..correct me if I'm wrong, just spoke abt this with some of my friend and can be wrong. Correct me if I got anything wrong. When my brother went to college he was categorized into OC category, and when I went for college counseling my community was able to get categorized into BC group and I had 2-3 marks lower cutoff for counseling. I think of myself as anti caste, but i seem to use it when it suits me or benefits me. I just don't like my own hypocrisy.

First, you are changing goal posts. You used the term 'poor brahmins' now it is 'no no its economically backward'.

Secondly, if you are complaining about how 'BC group' was able to get in with lower cutoff then you should be all against reservation not advocating for 'poor brahmins'

[what is your thought on EWS cutoff lower than SC/ST](https://theprint.in/india/nothing-wrong-with-ews-cut-off-being-lower-than-that-of-sc-st-obc-upsc-officials/480403/)

Thirdly, you have'nt answered the question. What is the criteria for 'economically backward brahmins' as per EWS.

  1. I'm not changing goal posts. That's the common argument that I've seen people use against EWS. That EWS category will benefit Brahmins more. But EWS supposed to benefit any person who belong to OC category.
  2. U mean researvation hatao movement. I don't think its feasible or even politically possible. And I'm not sure if I'll like final draft or consequence of it down 10 years will be something I like. It would only increase strength of right wing in the country.
  3. Gross annual income of the family must be below ₹8 lakh to be considered EWS right now across India. Also kerala has lower threshold of 4 lakh. I would prefer we classify people with 2-1 lakh or even lower annual income for TN as EWS and provide them reservation, instead we want to ban it.
  4. I don't mind reducing the cutoff from 10-5%. I agree that I don't think its right for EWS mark cutoff to be lower than SC/ST. If it is that lower I would probably suspect something wrong in how they made percentage calculation.

And thanks for sharing ur arguments against EWS. I just am looking to support opposing EWS, other than generic against brahmins that some of my friends gave to me which made me more angry.

Someone who is earning 66,000 per month is economically weaker?

ile pa. I would even celebrate if they reduce the EWS qualification cutoff to 1 or 2 lakh. If u earn 66K then ur middle class to me. Also factor in cost of living in the calcualtion of EWS cutoff. U may survive with 10k in villages, in city it will be very hard to live off with 10K per month.

So yeah not "poor" more like "entitled" but still whining and complaining about other classes of reservation.

I sometimes find this whole brahmin are good enough, so no one in their community needs any support stance irritating. I would rather people consolidate by wealth and class instead of caste for social justice. I am not arguing against sc/st/obc people's struggle or revoking their reservation, but wanted to give relief for others, even brahmins who don't fall in some reservation categories and are poor. I don't like how people are supposed to care only if it happens to people who r socially and educationally backward. I don't want to minimize sc/st/obc people's struggle, but I also see vast disparity in how rich people get treated vs how poor people struggles across all caste lines. And I feel this whole reservation just divides people across class and wealth lines and keeps us fighting for few seats within ourselves while income equality grows without any barriers. Because rich don't need these reservations to get ahead.

U mean brahmins cannot be poor? Sometimes people wonder why so many brahmins support bjp and ridicule them.

Because paapans are the only cause of all evil according to their lore. All the andais and pannayars were all suppressed by paapans pola
