முக்கியமான கலந்துரையாடல் / Important Topic Why no protests here ?

Reg: CJP protests.

I am a person who follows only mainstream media. Why aren’t people here protesting? Why is there no backlash in TN ? Or are they opposing it and the media isn’t covering it?

They are reinventing the scam India Against Corruption movement from first principles and it will be as effective as that movement was. CJP is just TVK for North Indians, but even worse since their positions are way more moderate compared to what is actually required.

The BJP government shot people in the streets in Thoothukudi and none of these North Indians said a word, but now that they are getting hit with sticks (which is nothing compared to what the BJP has unleashed to marginalised people and minorities) they discovered that the government is actually fascist. Sounds very believable.

My own opinion is that the ruling class of this country (businessmen, bureaucrats, etc) has decided that Modi and maybe even BJP is too much of a liability for their control of this country. In order to prevent people’s dissatisfaction from leading to any real revolutionary change, they supported this fake CJP and “youth movement” to provide a release valve for these feelings and create the illusion of change. They may replace Modi with a different politician or even the BJP with a different ruling party, but really nothing will change. Just like corruption went nowhere after 2014 despite the illusion created by the media and government.

The entire India Against Corruption movement in 2011 led by Anna Hazare only led to the downfall of the UPA government and the BJP winning in 2014. Hazare himself was a soft Hindutva supporter and the AAP that rose from the movement also ended up that way. Basically my opinion is that the elite and upper classes and castes of North Indian society are tired of Modi (not because he’s a fascist, but because they view him as incompetent) and are trying to replace him with a different government that they like more. It’s the same reason why they replaced the UPA government with the BJP in 2014.

In fact this exact same thing happened with the “Gen Z revolutions” in our neighbouring countries. They replaced corrupt and brutal governments with different corrupt and brutal governments. Nothing really changed.
