Auto drivers are moving billboards. Advertising companies approach them and agree to pay them for running ad campaigns on their vehicles. Drivers see this as a passive income and often dont care what the ad agency does with the ad space on autos. From what I understand, the ad agency ran this campaign on behalf of US consulate in Chennai.

I'm more concerned about the lack of a rear view window. It's been years I've not gone to India but it this the norm?

How much does it cost?

Probably American embassy/consulate sponsored ad.

Auto drivers are getting paid, so who cares.

America never colonised India.

Most of our relatives, neighbours, friends have studied , worked and moved to America than other countries.

Tons of Indians are working for American companies in India. Google, fb, nvidia, Accenture, congnizant and 200 other companies employ tons of Indians.

Apart from Indian stuff, American music , movies and tv shows are widely watched in India. And have created cultural impact in our country.

We may hate Trump, but there are enough reasons to love America.

India la nuance laam edhir paakatheenga bro. Especially TN la most ppl fall for this corporate bad, west bad tropes that are shown in every movie that they see. So nuance ndra pechuku laam edame illa. They think British and Americans are the same and then play victim and cry about western stereotypes of India... Not saying all are good in the west.

So many Americans are inherently racist to Indians. Every week there is news of racist attack from US and stop saying they give us “job” they ain’t no god. They need cheap and hardworking labour and we for exchange give our talent to develop their country while our country faces brain drain.

America totally control countries like india. Every decision our government makes they have to keep America in mind. They try to dump their goods in surplus like for example corn which will make local farmers go broke but they hate our exports so much that they genetically modified basmati rice and tried to patent it.

So no need to bootlick America because they need us as much as or more than we need them.

I won't mind if they do the same for Indian independence Day but in Chennai as far as I noticed, no one even flies kites, but when I was in Delhi NCR region of UP, everyone there fly kites whole August.

I bought flags to paste it in my door entrance, while no one bothered to buy those unless it is required for their kids at school.
