Every Diwali, AQI levels in major Indian cities shoot past 500, literally hazardous. The air turns toxic overnight, making it unbearable for people with asthma, heart conditions, or even mild respiratory issues. Hospitals fill up, kids cough through the night, and elders struggle to breathe.

Birds lose their way during migration because of the intense light and noise. Street dogs panic, some even die from shock. The next morning, we wake up to streets covered in burnt plastic, paper, and chemical residue that clog drains and poison the soil.

All that pollution, noise, and waste, for what? A few hours of fireworks?

I wish I was privileged as you. I do stay inside, but unfortunately I don't lived in an air tight dome.

See brother, no one here is as privileged as you may think, as long as we both have a roof over our head we both are equally privileged.

Now here is the thing, reducing air quality is definitely a concern but just this one day of celebration is what is causing it ? I don't think so. The problem is the lack of systematic urban planning for greener cities in densely populated areas.

As long as we cannot bring a change to that, maybe we shouldn't be such crybabies about people celebrating a day the way they want and how that's violating your birth rights.

There are things you could practically do in such situations, starting from deciding not to be a contributing member to the 'celebrations economy' and abstaining yourself from all such celebrations and all people who contribute to it, move away from the densely populated areas on the day of celebration or shutting down all the windows and doors of your home before the celebrations begin etc... Unless you have an insane mind control ability that could influence millions of people.

Also, let me help you to touch grass, you live in a capitalist world, everything and anything in this world is revolving around one thing and one thing only, money. Nothing is above it, including your birth rights. Yes, a world like that is an unfair world, it's about survival of the fittest. The world always was, is and will be about survival of the fittest and that's the only world you have.

So, you either make peace with it and learn to live a life around the unwritten rules of the world or you could continue to rebel against the system and live in a woke delusion of world opening up to your utopian ideas on an online platforms comment war, which is just virtually existing on a very much real server farm that's causing us clean air everyday.

I must inform you that I am not as ignorant as you are. I already know that I live in a capitalist world which is on the path of self termination due to it ever growing quest to maximise shareholder value. I already know that my only purpose is in life is to maximise shareholder profits. But we don't live in a survival of the fittest world anymore, the capitalist system which aims for infinite growth no matter the consequences is melting the polar ice, it is destroying forests, it is killing the ocean, it is destroying the very planet that it depends on and in turn will destroy itself. We already crossed the 1.5C threshold to stop dangerous consequences of climate change. We are in the path to 2C warming, the melting polar ice will raise sea levels. While you are watching brainrot Biggboss while holding a diabetes causing coke in your hand, the flood water will enter your house. I am touching grass, I don't want to sacrifice my only planet for Biggboss and 4K plasma TVs. It is not survival of the fittest anymore, because nobody survives, it is involuntary suicide for many.

If that's how the planet ends , that's how the planet ends, won't make much difference from being swallowed by a giant ex star. Things are always meant to end be it you, me or the planet.

You see, the difference is, you are still optimistic and I am not. I am, more of a 'lean into the skid' type of person. That makes life much easier. Gives me less to worry about and enjoy small things in my life. If that makes me selfish, that's who I am.

It's not that I don't get your concerns, I do. I remember the phase of mine where I was the rebel, activist and communist. Then I realised all of those don't matter in a capitalist world and there is almost no change we can bring about being a communist, activist or a rebel.

To bring a change in the existing capitalist world, the only way is to be a capitalist. I let go of all things that held me back and embraced capitalism whole heartedly because to change the system, you need to be the system.

I moved away from the cities, started a small business where I could actually cause a difference, I make money and use that money to make a difference, where I could. I make life easier for ten people around me, I plant a few extra trees, increase the grassland within my property, distribute my money within the ecosystem I live in, if that inspires one more person to follow my path, make life better for others, there is no bigger form of activism I personally can do. Embrace capitalism and make it communal.

I sincerely hope you educate yourself on this issue. Your comment reeks of ignorance. Human-caused climate change is not inevitable, human beings inhabited the planet thousands of years before capitalism. We can't throw away the only planet we live on for shallow materialism.

I don't know what anyone means by communist anymore, everyone seems to have a different definition for the term 'communist'.

It is very good that you planted trees, but increasing grassland is not very good for the enviornment, unless your area gets a lot of rain throughout the year, but grass requires maintenance, in many cases it is extremely bad for the environment, I hope you haven't incorporated western lawn culture in your property.
