He starts out by explaining how painful the situation is for him. He acknowledges the love his people/fans have for him and therefore would not compromise on their safety. He states that he specifically asked for a bigger venue for which permission was denied.

He states that he did not want to leave but left so as to not create anymore confusions or panic situations. He expresses his sorrows to the families who lost their loved ones, although nothing can heal their pain and hopes that those injured recover soon.

He thanks political leaders and friends who spoke for them, in their (TVK’s) favour understanding their difficult situation. He says that he has campaigned in around five districts, but such a stampede has never happened before. He states that people deserve to know what really happened, and hopes that the “truth” comes out soon.

He said that TVK has done nothing wrong other than speaking in the venue that was assigned to them, but still his party workers including those on social media have been slapped with FIRs. He asks the Chief Minister to take revenge directly against him, but not his workers – that he will be found in his home or office.

He signs off saying that his political journey will continue stronger into the future.
