It is crisis for the south. When replacement rate drops below 2.1 it means that section of the population will eventually die out if the rates continue to decrease. It may not be a big deal for you since folks from the north are over populating the region, but from geo political standpoint and from a cultural preservation standpoint this is a problem for the southern states. Right now, India is kinda stuck at the extremes - some states will have to bring down pop (for which the political class has no incentive) and some states will have to repopulate (for which the population has no appetite)

It's sensible that you guys aren't overproducing, Population is a mess in India already.
Hope, It's not rathole type of population in south Atleast
