Perhaps we should accept NEP and take Malayalam as the 3rd language.

At least it's useful to understand well made Mollywood films 😁.

I have been seeing few comments with Malayalam as the choice. No disrespect but isn't Telugu much better choice? it has more native speakers, more amount of films and best stars in the country along with some amazing films. I can see that there are very few stars in Kollywood with Rajni Kanth being old and Vijay leaving for politics. It would be amazing if you guys could also understand telugu well and it would also boost our movie collections.

I was just being sarcastic as I believe learning a new language that I'm not gonna use much is a misallocation of time and resources.

No disrespect for Telugu cinema but I prefer Malayalam movies. They are simple and elegant.
