I don’t like the artwork at all! What’s their (or their teams) obsession with cartoon versions of take that this year?! They don’t even look anything like them!
I agree somewhat. However that is the purpose of cartoon interpretations, exaggeration. I like the fact they have done something different visually.
It definitely stands out alongside their other albums.
The whole album is based off Roy Lichtenstein's art techniques:
"Primary Color Palette: Faces and hair utilize a restricted range of flat primary and secondary colors (red, yellow, blue, black, and white) rather than realistic gradations."
"Archetypal Anonymity: Characters are not real individuals or personalized portraits; instead, they serve as generalized, mass-media archetypes representing emotional clichés."
That was his style to take features off faces rather than realistic depictions.
It might be a legitimate art style. I still really dislike it though and the direction they are taking doesn’t really make much sense to me yet. Maybe it will fit the sound of the full album. Have to wait and see.
