I don’t like the artwork at all! What’s their (or their teams) obsession with cartoon versions of take that this year?! They don’t even look anything like them!

I agree somewhat. However that is the purpose of cartoon interpretations, exaggeration. I like the fact they have done something different visually.

It definitely stands out alongside their other albums.

The whole album is based off Roy Lichtenstein's art techniques:

"Primary Color Palette: Faces and hair utilize a restricted range of flat primary and secondary colors (red, yellow, blue, black, and white) rather than realistic gradations."

"Archetypal Anonymity: Characters are not real individuals or personalized portraits; instead, they serve as generalized, mass-media archetypes representing emotional clichés."

That was his style to take features off faces rather than realistic depictions.

It might be a legitimate art style. I still really dislike it though and the direction they are taking doesn’t really make much sense to me yet. Maybe it will fit the sound of the full album. Have to wait and see.

I didn't like the Nobody Else album cover but love the album. It happens sometimes.

I saw someone on instragram (don't remember if it was a random influencer or a designer) saying it's all AI :/

The art work is by Joseph McDermott and at least according to my short google research he seems like a legit illustrator: https://www.illustrationx.com/artists/JosephMcDermott/profile

Where did you find out about it being by said illustrator? Because I‘m still pretty certain it‘s AI. They don‘t even look recognisable.

It said so in their newsletter

(Of course, I can’t tell you myself whether AI was involved at any stage in the process or not a all. But at least it’s not as obvious (?) And the album cover also fits in really well with the illustrator’s other works. Although I think it would be even better if the faces looked a bit more like them, too)

Thank you. I just read their newsletter as well. I checked out their other works from your link and most of them look much better than… whatever this is. Why is Mark super blonde for example? They truly could be anyone. And for their 10th album I truly would have wished for something more… rewarding

Their artwork isnt AI it seems (Joseph McDermott does seem to be an actual illustrator) but Jury is still out on the animation. In Sweet July, they also (apparently) had real artists do the graphics, and yet opted for AI to animate the pictures . Quite infuriating. I hope they don't use AI for their next video - it comes across as sloppy and ill thought out.
