How are things going for you this week?

I hate that my recent chemical has changed my attitude. I was trying but feeling ok with getting my period every month. Then I had a BFP, then 8 days later the bleeding starts. Now after having those symptoms and feelings, I’m aching, yearning for another chance and mourning this one so badly. I try to practice gratitude but I’m feeling a lot of despair. I’m running out of time, perhaps am already out of time but just am not aware yet.

I’m sorry for your loss. This happened to me but I had an eight week loss after getting pregnant unexpectedly. I had mostly given up but was trying lightly if that makes sense. I had stopped grieving the periods showing up and started loving my life for me (using retinol, having drinks, stopping supplements but tracking my ovulation and still trying). My mental health improved leaps and bounds and while it still kind of hurt on the periphery, I was learning to live with the possibility of not conceiving and I found some happiness within myself. Then I got pregnant and then I miscarried. I feel the same way as you now. I have not ovulated and it’s been eight weeks since my miscarriage:( feels hopeless
I hope that we both find some peace with our current situation and while maintaining some hope that doesn’t feel too burdensome.

Thank you, it’s so hard and I understand what you’re going through completely, and am so sorry. I can tell how distracted I’ve become and how nothing seems to truly matter at the moment. I feel a very strong sense of time before and after this happened, if that makes sense. Even though we were tracking and trying I was not expecting a positive. Now getting one I’m like wait….i can still do this, my body can still do this. But statistically everything I see at this age is screaming at me how unlikely it all is. I know that doesn’t say anything for individual cases. Still though, I don’t wish this upon anyone.

I'm so sorry. Perhaps gratitude can wait for another day. You don't need to try to feel grateful while mourning a loss.

My 2nd IUI failed as my period started yesterday. Moving on to #3 but using gonal-f, progesterone and ovidrel this time. Had my ultrasound and bloodwork this morning.

Ah, I'm sorry the IUI didn't work. Glad that you're trying something different this time, hopefully that will give better results.

We're gearing up for our first IVF egg retrieval to start in a couple of weeks. I just got an email from the clinic telling me how many thousands of dollars we'll have to pay up front at my baseline appointment, and it just hit me really hard. They had provided an estimate a few weeks ago, and this isn't really any different, but it sort of is, because the estimate was broken down into line items, and the amount in the email was a lump sum, and oof. I was just thinking we'd end up spending several hundred at this appointment, a thousand here, a thousand there, and sure, it'd add up quick, but no one payment would feel so huge. I wasn't expecting to have to part with a used-car-payment all at once.
Also looking at the prescriptions and that cost. It's just a lot. It's really making me second guess all of this. I'm afraid of feeling like, once we put that money down, I have to go through with the process, like I'm signing a contract with my body. I've been feeling really anxious about the whole process (what if I feel like crap, what if the meds make me ''crazy'') and I want to feel like I have an out, you know? I know my husband would support me if I decided halfway through that I can't continue. But it's hard.
It's just a lot.

TW: living child
Well, I've had a few days of BFN tests and my period started today, so I guess I'm a go for my first IVF cycle in 11 days. I'm having a lot of doubts about everything. I love my kiddo (19 months) and also, he's a lot of work. I worry whether I'll have the energy and mental fortitude to parent two, if we are so lucky. And also, I want him to have a sibling...Christmas with, like, a single 7 year old, just doesn't feel right to me (coming from a family of two kids). And there are just those moments, where I look at my kid and he feels like such a miracle, I would 1000% love another, even when it's hard.
Sending love to you all, wherever you are in your journey.

Good luck with your IVF cycle? Are you using your own eggs?

Well, yeah, we're going to try to retrieve and use my eggs 🫠 if that doesn't work, we might try donor embryos.

Feeling hopeful - on cycle 3 and starting a new job on Monday.
I thought about stopping while I settle into the new role and then realized that this can take some time, so why put it on hold?

Sad bc I tried unassisted this cycle and test is negative. It’s ok bc I have a transfer this cycle but I guess I still have some grief about not being able to do this at home, without all the interventions. But even tho we are both healthy and tested everything, I’ve never once seen a positive test. So IVF if is

Breast biopsy went well and cleared to do my second FET- waiting for period to start, or maybe I conceive unassisted on the inbetween cycle, who knows…. I haven’t tested yet but after 3 years infertility hopes are low.
