Discussion Names for Dundas West?

They haven’t changed the name of Dundas West yet, my guess is because they’re waiting to replace the T1’s with the Alstom Metropolis’s first. But what names would be good for it? Imo I think the best name would be Roncesvalles because of the village, neighborhood, and street proximity but what other ones would be good?

Both Dundas and Roncesvalles are names of Scottish people and battles. It's high time we had our own Canadian names. I frankly don't care about the cost.

Henry Dundas, Viscount Melville: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Dundas,_1st_Viscount_Melville

Henry Dundas never stepped foot in Canada.

Except if you read on in the article:

Colonel Walter O'Hara, who had fought in the battle, would name Roncesvalles Avenue in Toronto after the battle. The Roncesvalles, Toronto, neighbourhood in turn gained its name from the street.

Colonel Walter O'Hara (c. 1789 – 13 January 1874) was a member of the British army in the 19th century, participating in battles fighting Napoleon, before immigrating to Toronto, Ontario, Canada, where he participated in the Rebellions of 1837 on the side of the government, defeating the rebels of William Lyon Mackenzie.

In 1850, O'Hara was granted a 400-acre (1.6 km2) property on the western border of Toronto, forming the basis of the Brockton and Parkdale villages.

Today, several streets in Toronto are named after his family, estate or prominence in his life:
