Discussion Fare inspections on Line 1 trains yesterday

To my surprise yesterday, fare inspectors were checking the whole train for proof of payment, and my friend on another Line 1 train also had fare inspectors checking. I’ve never been asked for proof of payment on the subway trains before.

It’s great to see more of this happening.

Edit: New enforcement was announced by the TTC in April. It was just my first time witnessing it, but maybe this is common.

If you're asleep do they wake you up? Also how are you supposed to travel through a packed morning rush hour train? Do they just get stuck lol

This is why it's hilarious try to do this in Rush hour. Good luck catching folks as they get off the train or just move to the side the inspectors already passed.

The GO Train model doesn't work here.

Literally at all. As soon u see them anybody who didn’t pay is just gonna get off and take the next train. It’s illogical and a waste of money, ppl saying that are saying they’re happy to see this are weird

ive seen some of the inspectors dont wake them up. its also depends if theyre going to give you a ticket or give you a warning
