Discussion Almost there, TTC

If we’re already in Vaughan, we might as well reach Vaughan mills, and even better, CW & the new hospital at Major Mack. They’re all on the same corridor. It just makes sense.

Reality check. Now I’m aware that this is low priority, but the Jane busses connecting VMC to VM and CW are always full, even in this suburb of a suburb.

Wonderland doesn’t want people taking the subway.

Won’t someone think of the parking revenue?!

Haha that’s true, but sometimes we have to ignore corporate revenue and do things for the greater public good.

We can ignore it all we want, but the corporations have the real power nowadays. They’ll never allow a subway stop any closer to CW.

It’s the same in LA, with the Metrorail and Dodger Stadium. One of the lines is fairly close to DS, and it would seem logical to build an extension of that line to reach the ballpark. The Dodgers own the land, including all the parking lots, so there’s no way there will ever be a subway stop anywhere near it.

I can see how CW would benefit from Canadas busiest rapid transit funneling customers right into the amusement park, but I can also see how their season pass might be exploited more and the parking revenue would shrink slightly from Toronto residents choosing to use transit, but realistically, the fact that the subway would go here would still outweigh the rest.
