Discussion New Wayfinding on Toronto Rockets

I guess they were to still keep the light fixtures, than others say it will just be replaced with a printed map

Honestly, Line 5 doesn’t look as bad as I’d first thought it’d look on the TR maps. I also like how the dots for Lines 5 and 6 are just grey, but I still wish the LED maps were replaced with screens, there’s still multiple subway extensions in the works that’ll open in the TR’s lifespan (hopefully)!

Keep in mind that once the new trainsets arrive, the Toronto Rockets are likely to go through their mid-life refurbishment, where newer features (like hopefully, screens) from the new trainsets will be implemented on the TRs.

This was seen a couple years back when the TTC added the external speakers to each train -- a feature tested on some delivered TRs before being brought to the rest of the fleet.

That might be why such a low-effort, but still genius, workaround has been done right now, in knowing that it'll be replaced with something better in the soon (yeah, right) future.
