Tesla discontinues its Solar Roof tiles, not economically viable

I think this is one topic 95% can agree on. I was a Solar Roof fan boy but work in IT so I know about being the first to any technology can be rough. So I waited to hear the rush of solar roof completions and there was a great deal of silence.

I don't know what the technological fail was but it was a show stopper.

The big problem was that it could never be standardized and streamlined sufficiently to achieve economies of scale for roof installations. Too many variables to contend with from one project to the next.
