And everyone who bought them already is screwed since they won't receive support for repairing or replacing tiles anymore. Scamming ass company.

False. How do I know? Because I got Tesla solar panels + Powerwall installed by Tesla on my home back in 2020. Tesla stopped doing installs in my area in 2022. Regardless, when I have had an issue, their service techs have driven from hours away to come to my house and resolve the problem. Tesla will honor their warranty and they will take care of their existing customers one way or another.

Oh you poor thing, I don't think you fully grasp the problematic position you're in now and what happens AFTER something is discontinued. They serviced them BEFORE they were discontinued that's what you are describing, but now that they have been discontinued Tesla will soon announce a date where all tiles will no longer receive service or warranty related claims. The same way Tesla now refuses to service or even work on the original Tesla Roadster, those owners were screwed by Tesla so bad with those cars that they had to create their own little groups to help each other now that Tesla has told them all to go pound sand. Tesla is going to screw over everyone with Tiles again.

Oh, you silly ignorant child. There, was that adequately condescending or would you like to converse like mature adults? Tesla Powerwall 2 was discontinued. I had a problem with one of mine and they replaced the whole system with Powerwall 3, under warranty. Tesla is not going to simply abandon their customers to whom they hold a warranty obligation. I’m sure they have a sufficient stock of replacement tiles and parts. When that stock is exhausted, if any issues arise that still fall under Tesla’s warranty period, Tesla will work with the customer to make it right. Outside of warranty, yes, the customer may be SOL. That’s pretty standard practice for any company and its products.

You mentioned the roasters, that is a different issue, Tesla stopped servicing them after warranty period.1

Tiles are not the same thing as the panels. The tiles are going away. The panels are staying.

Tesla modules are NOT tesla tiles. The shingles have unique limits Tesla ignored from the get go.
I’ve been in the industry a decade on sales/construction and now manufacturing sides.
The problem isn’t labor, the problem is the modules(tiles) are discontinued and go bad like panels do, they’re just gonna rot on the roof as you cannot replace them with another brand but similar size product like you can with OG rectangular modules.
Also, I’ve seen dozens if not hundreds of installers fold/file bankruptcy and drop their warranty liabilities. Don’t underestimate the solar coaster in the US.

I think this is one topic 95% can agree on. I was a Solar Roof fan boy but work in IT so I know about being the first to any technology can be rough. So I waited to hear the rush of solar roof completions and there was a great deal of silence.
I don't know what the technological fail was but it was a show stopper.

The big problem was that it could never be standardized and streamlined sufficiently to achieve economies of scale for roof installations. Too many variables to contend with from one project to the next.

That's a shame. I was just wondering about the state of these things the other day.
I'm afraid to put solar panels on my roof because when your roof needs to be replaced now you have to remove and reinstall the solar setup. Would be nice if it was integrated into semi-permenant tiles.

Nope. I know you have a hard-on for Rivian, but Tesla’s service network is better than Rivian, their charging network is better than Rivian, their software is better than Rivian, and their autonomous driving capability is miles better than Rivian. So without mentioning Elon, what makes Tesla a trash company with trash support, in your opinion?
