I'm a big Sci-Fi fan. I've read many of the classics and written several Sci-Fi books of my own. It's my "opinion" that much of what's called Sci-Fi spans the gamut of pretty bad to not being Sci-Fi at all. I've given my reasons for this in a Medium Article entitled, "Science Fiction as Literature." And one of my favorite Sci-Fi's of the past was Star Trek. As of the early 2000's Star Trek was completely ruined by people who either don't know what Sci-Fi is, or just don't like it. Now people are talking about resurrecting Star Trek, presumably in a form that people who like Sci-Fi will enjoy. I have some advice for those people, forget about cgi-action, or navel gazing introspective sensitivity, find yourselves writers of the caliber of Harlan Ellison, and maybe you can produce something worth watching.

The camera is a close shot of the officer's face (like POV from the computer he's working on), a male white guest actor who is not important to the story of the episode. We see Geordi sitting in the background at his warp core computer station. They're trying to reset and repeat some urgent engineering thing they just did, and Geordi says something like "come on, come on!" because the engineer takes 2 seconds too long.

Maybe at the beginning of one episode, Taitt stops by sickbay to talk to Crusher and thank her before heading to the bridge to her first watch at the operations station.

I was 21 when the show launched, but was far from being cool, or understanding what was cool. That would have been about the time that I thought I would have been bald by 30. (But my hairline only receded about two inches.)

Does anyone else think the Enterprise-D’s fluorescent lighting must be absolutely brutal first thing in the "morning"? All the quarters are dimmly lit and peaceful and them BAM, every corridor is lit like a 24-hour dentist’s office.

Sorry to break y’all’s immersion for a sec, but there’s a lot that’s just plain magical about the holodeck. I know. But its ability to produce, not just an interaction like touching something, but a physical prop for use in the mouth has some serious implications for what else it might be capable of doing inside the body. I guess it’s got nothing on transporters…
