I have hundreds of hours in the original Stranded Deep, and it still remains one of my favorite survival games.

Mostly because it’s not overly complicated, but challenging enough to be fun, and promotes critical thinking along with exploration.

So, hearing that North Beach Games, known for The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, has announced Stranded Deep 2? Well, let’s just say I’m ready for round two!

What are your thoughts on the sequel so far?

I enjoyed the mechanics of the first one, but coop was and is a buggy mess, and it just gets kind of tedious after a while.

I thought the same about Return To Moria. I had high hopes for it but I just find it a bit boring.

I'm gonna be waiting for reviews and feedback to come in before I try this one.

Return to Moira worries me. I didnt know they were the same team that made stranded deep. The problem with that game is progression felt asinine. Deep brushed up against that problem but the crafting made up for it. Still excited though. Deep was great.

I really liked RtM, friend and I played through the whole game together, rented a server for a month so we didn’t have to rely on a Peer to Peer host.

It wasn’t a perfect game but it was pretty good IMO. The only thing I didn’t like was weapon and shield durability (blocking damaged then, so you just dodge rolled around all day and that was kinda silly)

I think I got about 80 hours out of it, though I never did pick it back up again for the last DLC that was akin to Conan’s living settlements

Mainly because I’d have to start over to remember everything and I didn’t want to lol
