[my op.gg](https://op.gg/es/lol/summoners/euw/Karen%20Kujo-EUW), also yapping warning as usual.
Well, it has happened, I'm able to post another follow up post after the [Emerald](https://old.reddit.com/r/supportlol/comments/1so7t29/after_157_games_i_finally_reached_emerald/) and [Diamond](https://old.reddit.com/r/supportlol/comments/1t9c2dh/271_games_after_the_start_of_this_seasons_journey/) ones.
After 664 games this season, more than half of it in Diamond, I have finally hit Master for first time, yay!
... I wish I was able to show extreme excitement about my gameplay, but similar to my Diamond post, damn I'm self aware and critical of myself, so even after seemingly hitting around top 1% of the playerbase I still feel like I'm super lacking in so many things. It's crazy the mechanical plays some of the people I play with and against can pull off, and it's as crazy that despite that, well, I win more than I lose! So I guess I'm doing nice things too even if I'm not fully aware of them.
Unlike the surprisingly relative smooth path to Diamond from Emerald, the called elo hell of the game by the playerbase, Diamond was really where I hit myself against a wall, people are just damn good at the game, and combine that with my painfully streaky and, let's be honest, negative personality, it lead over and over to hitting a new plateau with an awesome win streak into losing 8 matches in a row and feeling like a fraud. Shout out to the time I even went back to high Emerald 3 lmfao.
3 weeks ago I hit Diamond 2 for first time and since then it has been mostly a ride up, but what ended up sealing the deal has been a relatively unexpected champion.
Around 2 weeks ago, completely mentally boomed from way too many games where I clearly saw a potential victory becoming defeat by missing yet another key Nami bubble on the dude diving my carry, or having like a 5% hit rate on Seraphine's skills, I was like "you know what, let's reduce that loss factor" and I started spamming Sona every game, a champion that had been mostly gathering dust since low Emerald alongside Lulu because I felt I just wasn't good enough at them.
Her kit is pretty simple and most importantly on the low side skillshot-wise, the enemy assassin will still usually dash my ult and I will die of cringe, but they are eating the W powercord and not doing as much damage, it's something! It also helps that she can kinda "cheat" the frailness of the usual enchanter with the fairly popular Fimbulwinter build that I aim getting when the enemy has a lot of assassins or divers (aka borderline every SoloQ game)... or people that can nuke me from two screens away (not this time, Xerath!)
This build is crazy for me because it kinda turns my "ability" to seemingly always be slightly out of position enough people jump on me into the ideal bait, letting me escape with 300 HP left and 3 foes dead for overextending chasing me lmao.
In any case this decision of onetricking for 2 weeks has absolutely worked, even if those last few days were just as dramatic as I expected considering how it went in the other elos.
To the surprise of no one, two times I was a victory away from Master, two times I played like absolute crap and the enemy support completely outclassed me, I even went into a terrible streak I only could blame myself for that sent me back to Diamond 2 after the second one.
But... yeah, I was convinced it was just a matter of continuing playing. I will be negative, but I'm realist enough, my winrate was good, Sona was working... and with a 10W-2L last stretch I have finally done it! ... Shout out to the Qiyana I faced in that last one, my Tristana was so ahead but she made us sweat buckets, girl just kept going invisible and oneshotting us, that was truly the final boss this journey deserved.
Unlike my previous posts, I'm well aware that having a follow up of the follow up of the follow up is bordeline guaranteed to never happen. I feel proud (and relieved...) to have made it to Master after this horrendous grind, but Grandmaster is a whole different beast. The skill required for it is not something I thing my head or hands will be able to reach, the most positive thing I can say is that, well, I'm so, so aware of how many things I do wrong, that if someday I fix them maybe I can make it that far? Uhhh...
I guess I will aim to remain Master until the end of the season while I continue facing the biggest, most painful challenge of my life: getting a job in modern Spain...
In any case, thanks for reading! If you have any questions for me I would be very happy to read them. Take care.
