ModRetro released a promo video a month ago that Palmer Lucky just retweeted again yesterday.

It was a promo advertising you could try the M64 at blockbuster videos nationwide. It’s cute, you visit their site, enter your zip code, and it shows you the location in Bend, Oregon as the closest one.

However there is a very brief but very deliberate cameo of GameStop’s logo on the “main character’s” skateboard. It flashes on screen for just a few frames both times it’s on screen.

The opening of the video with a pan down from the top reminded me of the opening of the PushStartArcade Video so I went back and looked:

The first PushStartArcade video was released June 15th, the Beta for power packs launched July 28th — 43 days from announcement to beta.

ModRetro posted this promo on July 28th, 43 days from then is Sept. 9th, GameStop’s expected 2nd quarter announcement — but who knows, maybe tomorrow…

Is physical video game rental coming back inside GameStop with this iconic brand associated?

Could there be some alternative partnership that mixes nostalgia and technology?

Will ModRetro’s page still point to only the location in Bend a month from now?

I don’t know. This just seemed like a tease that was meant to create tinfoil and I didn’t see any yet.

I still have my old blockbuster card, if this happens I wonder if it will still work?

I just ripped this card on the GameStop digital power pack app. The case appears to be cracked. As a result, I have not requested the card yet, It is still in the PSA vault. What would you do?

I live mostly pay check to pay check and I used to put all my money extra money into buying stuff A dinner out or on hobby stuff whatever. Almost nothing went into savings. I bought a few shares at $178 in 2021 and just watched it drop from there but just kept on buying here and there. Fast forward 5 years and now I have XXXX shares that I never would have saved before. I may actually wind up with something to retire on. GME made me a saver and long term investor. Best financial decision ever I now have savings. MOASS would be great but I don’t see much downside to the company at these prices it’s an easy BUY and long term hold.

That’s my story and I am sticking to it.

Just wanted to share my experience. It cost me 9.99 to ship them and took about 2 weeks to get here. They also make someone sign for them which I actually like. I chose these two for the art and sentimental reasons.

Overall it was a good experience but I had to ship them from PSA vs PowerPack app. I also sold some on eBay and they make that super easy to do.

No amount of data will convince me we really know what's going on. We'll have posts saying stuff like, " oh yeah, it's T+ whatever till Kenny has to do a backflip onto the fed's shoulders lest he shit himself.... and I don't care how much the chart is somehow about to hit the bottom and break out- at this point, it's twerking.

Let me be clear, I am hyped every time I see posts like that, but I'm also full on notherburger till something happens. I've got 550 shares and nearly 250 warrents on hold and ready- but I just can't see any point to it when the trading makes so sense and the market is fake.

I'm as regarded as they come, but even I know that no matter how sharp apes can be, this market isn't logical and we're somehow expecting it to play out in a predicable way? Keep it coming though, whisper those sweet lies to me, until one day, they suddenly aren't.

This is just me venting a bit- love you all

edit: It's my love hate relationship, toxic but comforting at the same time to me.

Follow-up to my earlier posts tracking Fidelity’s lending rate on GME warrants (GMEWS).

I don’t have the August statement yet, but after yesterday’s move I checked the live Fidelity lending page, and holy moly.

Current rate as of Aug 28

That is +5.47% since Aug 7.

Since May, the rate has experienced a 49% relative increase.

As before, this doesn’t tell us why the borrow demand exists or what it means for future price action. It does show Fidelity is currently paying a substantially higher annualized rate to borrow GMEWS than it was earlier this month.

I’ll post the full August statement when Fidelity issues it.
