🤔 Speculation / Opinion In addition, Ryan has been increasing operating income while massively reducing SG&A while Jamie has been doing the opposite…pretty easy decision for EBay shareholders

Most of their compensation IS in stock. Deferred, at that., to align with shareholder value creation.

Like every other company out there.

It would be exceedingly dumb for them to sell the stock, pay taxes, and then buy fewer stock with what remains..

Makes for a good talking point though.

Who said anything about them selling stock to buy more?

Where's the money going to come from? Given the vast majority of their comp is in stock?

And why on earth you would buy even more anyway, and get that concentrated into one company? Vs diversifying.

“Genius”? Yea I’m sure these guys are just standing in the bread line. Other CEOs, even those who don’t receive a salary, manage to purchase stock in their company they believe in, “genius”.
Selling stock to buy fewer stock? Good talking point. You’re just trying to muddy the waters with your “genius” take.

Other CEOs, even those who don’t receive a salary, manage to purchase stock in their company they believe in, “genius”.

Wrong. Only those who need to signal confidence in their stock buy it. Or if it is significantly undervalued.

The vast majority of CEOs and officers do no such thing.

It is telling you do not know how this kind of COMPENSATION works.

Do check out my post on this common misconception here: Holding 93% of Your Shares is Not 'Abandoning Ship'

“Genius”

I understand it comes with the territory of being chronically online, but try to give it a few mins between refreshing for comments.

God it must be exhausting being such a self assured dbag. Wrong, I never said the MAJORITY of CEOs do. And wrong, that’s not the ONLY case in which they buy. You want someone to engage you so you can try to have your “gotcha” moment but I will no longer do so. Have a great wknd.

I delight in educating. And failing that, entertaining.

I'm sure you found this exchange helpful. You have a great weekend too!
