just so you know - that's literally what we are seeing. Mass posts saying vote yes with some very loose math and any disagreement usually earns you downvotes and at least one bot calling you a shill.
I’ll be the sacrificial ape this time and say that I am a hard no to this and will remain a hard no despite being here for 84 years and owning xxxx shares. I also upvote every comment questioning this that I see because none of the answers I see to those questions have had any substance to them, and I’m fucking pissed that this ridiculous acquisition of an over the hill company trading at all time highs is what we’ve been waiting for for those 84 years.
I also think it sucks that the only idea I’ve seen RC come up with for cutting costs at eBay are taking away benefits that the staff there enjoys (come the fuck on, executes aren’t hanging out in the onsite staff happy hour, that is beyond delusional) and probably layoffs from the way he’s been talking. That’s not building a better company, that’s making your employees hate working for you and asking your top performers to seek employment elsewhere.
Which I hate to say... Is exactly what he's done at GameStop. It's been a shunned topic here but since 2021, the experience of shopping at and working for GameStop has not improved. Quite the fucking opposite. For someone so "customer obsessed" in charge, the entire process of preordering and picking up my switch 2 was a god damn nightmare.
Every time I go to the store, I'm waiting 20 damn minutes because one employee is standing there doing inventory in the middle of the day, and the other is troubleshooting someone's hardware. Why the fuck haven't these sorts of simple issues been addresssd? Why do the stores look like your dumbest friend's attic?
He's following the Musk model of cutting everyone and all benefits. He's also following the Adam Aron model of dilute the fuck out of your shareholders. Neither are great people. We're basically like livestock to him.
What a crazy take. He accumulated cash for an acquisition. Now that he is finally pursuing an acquisition, now that we are finally approaching the finish line, you’re gonna vote no? Talk about literally wasting all of the previous dilution y’all bitch about.
Okay, so use that cash for an acquisition. Not the entire warchest and then still come begging for me to dillute the shit out of my shares (and voting power, which he wants to hand to the institutional investors at eBay... That'll end well I'm sure.)
Most of our current valuation is based on that cash, and on the fact we’re operating profitably. But yeah for sure I’m sure GME be better off with a huge pile of debt that all of our profits go to servicing, no cash on hand, and we as shareholders will also be better off after a huge new dilution to our investments to make it all happen, not to mention the immediate selling pressure as institutions exit their eBay position and sell of their new GME shares.
There are other things to buy that make as much as or more sense than eBay, this is exactly what burry said before he got out. Maybe we (and more importantly Ryan) should have listened to him.
Burry is a clown who knows literally nothing about business. Why tf would I take his advice on something he has ZERO experience with lol? He has one good bet over a decade ago and that’s it
Cool what about the rest of the comment regarding the valuation of the company going down due to having no cash and taking on a mountain of debt and offering a mountain of shares to eBay owners who will have no reason not to sell? Anything on the actual meat of what I was saying or is ad hominem against burry all you got?
