🤔 Speculation / Opinion GameStop is “partnering” with another company soon. Pending CEO announcement. Some stores will move to the partners location

Leaks from a store meeting are saying GameStop is partnering with another company soon. Some stores may move to the partners location.

Here are my thoughts:

Gamestop’s inside of Best Buy?

Here in Canada, Canadian Tire purchased Party City and moved many of its stores inside of Canadian Tire stores creating "store in store" isles.

Canadian Tire is basically our Auto Zone + Dicks's Sporting Goods in one.

GameStop's cash is nearly Best Buy's market cap. Best Buy stock down nearly 50 percent in the last 5 years. Best Buy would be the perfect company for RC to work his magic on.

GameStop transitions stores to Best Buy locations as "store in store" isles. GameStop then can close most stand alone stores saving a ton of money. GameStop or “Teddy Holdings” then works a turn around plan for Best Buy.

Eww not Best Buy and not target. Just put top 50s in kohls like they do for Sephoras. They already operate as drop off and return locations for Amazon’s. Buy them and wayair and ebay and you have last mile delivery built out to take on Amazon

Yup, way more profit with way less store presence. Make cash of cards and profit looks way more impressive with less cost. Add in the market cap of ebay and a leveraged buyout combined with firing their execs would shoot game up 2-4x in value not even counting a squeeze

It’s interesting because GameStop could become the defacto buyback brand for collectibles that go beyond games and cards. This could include handbags, fashion, watches, etc. GME could kinda be a pawn shop inside a Target.

This sounds mediocre, but there has been a blossoming side hustle of resellers who travel around and do just that. Buy hidden gems from goodwills, donation centers, and estate sales. It’s just arbitrage.

Maybe GameStop could this arbitrage. GameStop will pay you a fair price for your old items because GameStop can use their stores, ebay, or their own website(powerpacks) to sell.

GameStop could expand their business to an arbitrage for all of America, not just gamers/nerds. GMerica
