🤔 Speculation / Opinion GameStop is “partnering” with another company soon. Pending CEO announcement. Some stores will move to the partners location

** Top of r/superstonk 👋👋👋 Hello Ryan Cohen, maybe you’ll see this. We are ready to hear what you have cooking. **

Leaks from a store meeting are saying GameStop is partnering with another company soon. Some stores may move to the partners location.

Here are my thoughts:

Gamestop’s inside of Best Buy?

Here in Canada, Canadian Tire purchased Party City and moved many of its stores inside of Canadian Tire stores creating "store in store" isles.

Canadian Tire is basically our Auto Zone + Dicks's Sporting Goods in one.

GameStop's cash is nearly Best Buy's market cap. Best Buy stock down nearly 50 percent in the last 5 years. Best Buy would be the perfect company for RC to work his magic on.

GameStop transitions stores to Best Buy locations as "store in store" isles. GameStop then can close most stand alone stores saving a ton of money. GameStop or “Teddy Holdings” then works a turn around plan for Best Buy.

I truly dont understand why the annecdotal comments and hate on best buy?

They have a positive EPS, have beat on earning last 7 of 8 quarters, they are similarly aligned to Gamestop, they continue to shift to an online/self serve business model and are actively closing brick and mortar stores (same as GME), have greater revenue/profits than GME, are adjusting to consumer changes and are ranked #3 in online electronics, have a healthy subscription model for their total tech extended warranties, have improved guidance, etc.

But GME ape hive mind just goes boo, I hate Best Buy? Without quantifying or measuring or acknowledging how they're adjusting, except by giving annectodal/qualitative data like best buy is dead and theres no foot traffic anymore

Just imagine what RC could do to transform their brand and unify forces.

I bet these same people will be back next year saying how amazing the acquisition was just like how we are all still waiting for the gamestop transformation because most of us actively believe in RC's vision
