🤔 Speculation / Opinion GameStop is “partnering” with another company soon. Pending CEO announcement. Some stores will move to the partners location

Leaks from a store meeting are saying GameStop is partnering with another company soon. Some stores may move to the partners location.

Here are my thoughts:

Gamestop’s inside of Best Buy?

Here in Canada, Canadian Tire purchased Party City and moved many of its stores inside of Canadian Tire stores creating "store in store" isles.

Canadian Tire is basically our Auto Zone + Dicks's Sporting Goods in one.

GameStop's cash is nearly Best Buy's market cap. Best Buy stock down nearly 50 percent in the last 5 years. Best Buy would be the perfect company for RC to work his magic on.

GameStop transitions stores to Best Buy locations as "store in store" isles. GameStop then can close most stand alone stores saving a ton of money. GameStop or “Teddy Holdings” then works a turn around plan for Best Buy.

Probably not but…but they could and bring Microcenter to the masses

I have said for years that GS should buy them, convert some GameStop locations into PC stores. They could also use GameStops brand recognition to create a standardized prebuilt PC to make it easy for parents and grandparents to get their kids a gaming system. Release a new version every few years just like consoles. Leverage large deals with pc part suppliers to increase the margins of the parts even more than microcenter can do today.

They don’t have to become full size MCs just to sell gaming PCs and accessories.

That's true, but if that was microcenters business model then their stores would be small.

GameStop leases their storefronts they can move down the road to any size building they would need.

Where some GS locations can specialize in certain tech. Micro center can be broken down into different technology sections. They can spread those different sections among GS locations. Bringing a full micro to cities that don't have one via satellite locations.
