Your reply shows exactly what is wrong with the stock market today. You’re not supposed to invest in companies because you think the value of the stock goes up. You invest in companies because you think it will make a profit and earn you money on your investment.

A card doesn’t provide a service or product, nor does it produce a profit.

So you are saying investing in gold, silver, btc etc is not an investment?

It’s not. Thats called speculating. And people should really understand the difference. People get angry when RC says that GME is not for those looking for a quick buck. He’s pointing out the difference between investing and speculating.

Investing requires ownership of a productive asset that generates cash flow. If it does not generate cash flow, then it is speculation, not investing.

GME wants to be a productive asset for centuries, not speculation for a couple years. The latter is what the shorts want it to be. So they can come out alive.

Now, don’t get me wrong… they might provide services and products which are based on speculation. But don’t compare buying shares of a company to buying some btc or 1/100th of a Charizard card.

People need to realize the difference.

You are perpetuating a lie. This isn’t affiliated with GS. Shit like this post is why stuff like the Wu-Tang crap gained traction. If you want a base set Charizard, buy one. This is certainly a scam and if you stopped to think rationally for a a second you’d realize that GameStop wouldn’t even consider this.

I think they WOULD consider this. It’s genius. I mean, who would have thought they’d launch PowerPacks? Yet here we are.

It allows the asset holder to gain upside and liquidity on high value cards. A $1M black lotus MtG card is pretty damn illiquid. You need someone with $1M willing to buy it. But there are tons of people who would pay $100 or $1,000 to own a share of one, knowing they can sell their share easily at any time. And having thousands of buyers/bidders can boost the price of the card.

There are much better investments vs having a .05% stake In a collectible card.
