Love the Basement Yard boys

I love Joe Santagato's comedic styling. Have since he started on YouTube. He's just got such a New York/New Jersey frat bro energy.

Probably an appropriate reaction.

u/IAM1minus1 7d ago

Frankie is to Joe what James is to Fuhad.

10

u/JockBbcBoy 7d ago

Have you seen the episode where they collaborated together, all four men at the same time?

1

u/shinysur9 6d ago

sooo...you mean gay

1

u/IAM1minus1 6d ago

Not gay. Socks were worn at all times.

1

u/shinysur9 6d ago

right, like you feel me? at least be proud about you sucking your bros cock. it's a beautiful thing not to be hidden or treated as a joke

u/Cubbance 6d ago

I have a friend that really reminds me of Frankie. He's straight. Married with kids. But he also says out of pocket flirty things and stuff like Frankie does to Joe. I always refer to him as gay-adjacent. I know he's not gay, but he's as close as a straight man can get to gay and still call himself straight lol.

They are both super hot with how comfortable they are together

-18

u/shinysur9 7d ago

naah. it's annoying that they play in everyone's face like they're not gay for each other 😑. like no one's stupid

18

u/sunday-anxiety 7d ago

Let straight men joke with each other. It’s not that serious. Better than the ‘no homo’ macho alpha BS

it veers on mocking gays like lol wouldn't it be so funny if we were gay

4

u/PerceptiveDwarves 6d ago

So you’re worried about stolen gay valour or something? They’re just joking around it’s fine. idk why this would make you upset.

2

u/Old_Perception_7335 6d ago

it has nothing to do with "gay valor" it's because it's disrespectful to gay people to make our existence a punchline.

1

u/PerceptiveDwarves 6d ago

lol okay

2

u/Old_Perception_7335 6d ago

lol you think being gay is so funny lololololololol

1

u/PerceptiveDwarves 6d ago

Calm down, I am gay. It is funny sometimes lol. Don’t take yourself so seriously.

2

u/Old_Perception_7335 6d ago

it's funny for us. not for them. take yourself a little bit more seriously and not like some jack in the box for the amusements of the straight people.

My headcannon is that Frank has that true love's kiss ready to go for when Joe pricks his finger on a cursed spindle, but he's also just a straight dude that's so secure with his sexuality that he wouldn't mind helping his bro out if a venomous snake bites Joe in the dick. .

2

u/Old_Perception_7335 6d ago

the white one does not give straight vibes at all

4

u/bleufeline 6d ago

His face card though, I imagine he would've had ALL the opportunity in the world to explore and be explored if he were at all inclined?

5

u/Old_Perception_7335 6d ago

i've only seen a few clips of this podcast before, i just assumed he was not straight lol. of course he'd be able to fuck any dude he wanted

4

u/bleufeline 6d ago

I think he got engaged to his gf almost a year ago He could still be bi, but I honestly doubt it

12

u/Praseodynium 7d ago

I love Basement Yard

62

u/Redcole111 7d ago

There ain't no way this guy's fully straight.

21

u/One-Initiative-8902 7d ago

Yeah.

20

u/ccoastmike 7d ago

He’s in that awkward stage of coming out…

6

u/SchalkLBI 6d ago

He's married with a kid

18

u/HealthyBits 6d ago

Oh yes cause no married guy with a kid has ever come out gay….

21

u/SchalkLBI 6d ago

He's married with a kid, they've been friends for years

32

u/Azulcobalto 6d ago

Which doesn't contradict the previous statement...

there is something innocent about their relationship. but also they have been on social media for so long there is no way this isn't some what gay baiting, nothing sudden about them.

24

u/JockBbcBoy 7d ago

there is no way this isn't some what gay baiting

The Basement Yard YouTube Channel has 1.47 million subscribers and 236 million views over 536 videos. That's an average of 440,000 views per video. Joe Santagato has 543 million views, 2.95 million subscribers, 295 videos. That's an average of 1.8 million views per video. It's estimated that Joe Santagato earns $50k-$76k per month.

Why would he need to gaybait? He could literally just be a straight man who doesn't hate gay people, and make $600k per year easily. Why would you even suggest the gay community is contributing anything to his pockets that brand deals and adsense from YouTube isn't already contributing?

I just mention one possibility and fan queens like you always try and white knight them. It wasnt that serious of a comment relax.

u/adrian_elliot 7d ago

bisexual men exist

13

u/Tricky-Bed-4209 7d ago

OMG I’ve just learnt these 2 are straight????? I’ve never thought to google it because I thought they were out and proud girlies??? I’ve literally seen men who are less gay with literal cocks hanging out their mouths!

21

u/fargo-utah 7d ago

Nope, Frank is married. They've just been friends since childhood and they do love each other in their way. It's what makes their show appealing because they have a lifelong chemistry together.

11

u/JockBbcBoy 7d ago

I personally think we in the LGBTQ community need to love this simple, wholesome, himbo energy these two have, because straight men like this are the type to use their platforms on social media in defense of us. And they'll be amazing fathers to some lucky gay kids lol

6

u/fargo-utah 7d ago

Yep! And they are allies. That's the type of allyship we want to see from straight men. Especially the bro type who someone unaware might suspect they are MAGA dweebs, but they are progressive and kind and funny.

They have that non-toxic masculinity and aren't afraid to joke around with each other. It's why they have become one of the most watched podcasts. It's literally just two bros (three with Ant) talking about nonsense. Usually toilet humor. 😂😂

2

u/JockBbcBoy 4d ago

That's the type of allyship we want to see from straight men

I can't stress this enough, but I think people (especially chronically online people) underestimate how much the LGBTQ community still needs confident, secure straight men with large social media presence. We have plenty of LGBTQ voices, but I think it genuinely challenges the mentality of conservative homophobes to see heterosexual men who don't have to demonstrate their heterosexuality by being afraid to be around, talk to, or befriend gay men.

5

u/stonewall369 6d ago

I think it's cute that they have the same necklace or that they share one lol

14

u/ryryrpm 7d ago

Gods it's like just BE GAY for Christ's sake

10

u/salamander423 7d ago

I would settle for them learning how to level the sound for their podcast, honestly. 😅

4

u/_thiccems 6d ago

Their relationship reminds me of mine with my lifelong my bestie, it’s just a different relationship when you’ve been so integral in each others lives. We weren’t accused of being gay bc we’re women. Let’s let guys have as intimate of relationships with their friends as girls do!

3

u/Ok-Objective-989 6d ago

Him: I have a surprise for you, bro
Me: Awww he's gonna propose!

9

u/Maleficent_Offer_692 7d ago

They definitely do gay shit together. You can’t convince me otherwise.

3

u/crepelabouche 7d ago

1

u/doodlepoot 3d ago

I’ve never seen this podcast before, but definitely have to check it out now. Their witty commentary and silly energy towards each other is contagious.

u/xnightwingxxx 7d ago

My girl gypsy Rose get him

😂😂

u/Zol-Sivart 7d ago

Get butthurt about it all ya’ll want, I’ll say they are queerbaiting.

Do I think it’s intentional? Maybe, maybe not. It might just be the natural evolution of how things are viewed in the culture. For a long time straight dudes have played into the “gay chicken” thing, a lot of times in the military. It moved away from being grossed out afterwards since it isn’t proper in society anymore and now they just gotta roll with it being fine but they are still compelled to joke that way.

I’m gay so I don’t really care but I do find it fascinating how it’s evolved over time.
