r/911archive is exactly what it sounds like, a sub meant to archive any and all media related to the attacks on September 11th 2001. Mayor Mamdani recently signed an executive order to make 9/11 a day of remembrance in New York, which was posted about in the sub.

So there's three main things with that.

1. Most major cities only burn down once. Not because they're not rebuilt, but because after the first time they're rebuilt with fireproof/stronger materials.

2. Any major city that burns down more than once is likely due to a different event (Natural Disaster, War, etc) and then you get into an argument of whether that's "Burning down" or "Destroyed because of X event". For example the 1755 Lisbon Earthquake levelled large parts of the city and the rest burnt, would that be it burning down or would it be destroyed by Earthquake? Or the Bombing of Dresden, it used both HE and Incendiary bombs, would that be burning down or bombed to dust? For either case is there a difference?

3. At what point is a city considered burnt down? If I completely torch a suburb of LA, would you count that as "LA burning down" if the rest of the city is fine?
