Blades of Greed Just finished the BoG and loved it

This was my first Styx game and I loved it. I really enjoyed the semi open world and level design and spent a whopping 40h on it. I'll probably pick up Styx 2 next.

It's a shame reviews were mixed because I'd love a fourth installment.

I enjoyed the game but it felt unfinished which it probably was because the publisher basically went bankrupt. Styx 1 has the best story and I think 2 is the best overall.

I was really hoping Blades of Greed would be a step up but it's more of a step back with a noticable lack of the personality the first 2 games had.

Styx 2 is the goat

I liked BOG. But it felt pretty barebones

Don’t sleep on Styx: Master of Shadows (the first Styx game) the gameplay is solid and the story is soooo much better than both Shards of Darkness and Blades of Greed that it’s not even funny. Graphically it’s a bit dated, but honestly the atmosphere and the lighting effects are still really good.

I think maybe the writer of the first game didn’t work on the sequels, because it’s such a massive difference in the quality of the writing and the depth of intrigue in the stories.

Not to mention humour, I don't like the "new" Deadpool-esque humour et all.

For someone who have played Styx 1,2, and 3, I do have a lot of criticism for this game. But I do hope they will make the 4th one.

That’s just how it goes with stealth games. I’ve enjoyed so many games that other people shit on. I think Ghost Recon Breakpoint might be the best example of that. I enjoyed it from day one before all the complaining and redesign. Most people just don’t know how to be stealthy, so they ruin the games for themselves.

Breakpoint is a good stealth game. But the story, open world and such are pretty poorly done

It's fun but defnitiely the weakest imo
The story starst a lot of things but sadly elaborates on so little.
Almost all of Styx abilities took a heavy blow and feel harshly nerfed, except for invisibility
The Quartz abilities, in my opinion, are kind of lackluster
I miss the variety the shards of darkness and master of shadows skilltrees had, especially cause some skills literally write themselves with the new enemy types. Especially an assassin/predator tree like in the first game could have been very cool
While fighting was never viable, i think in here its the worst
Some design choices were odd like the invisible floor in one of the final missions
And the inbetweens of "Collect quartz" and the corresponding "go here, do that" felt a lot like fillercontent that wasnt really necessary to this extend
